Hypertech Programer or Diablosport

the diablo i would say is better just because of the fact you can adjust the settings yourself and if you need to down the road get your car custom tuned by a diablo dealer and its easy to upgrade the software from diablos site

What kind of gains can one expect with one of the hand held tuners(Hypertech, Superchips, or Diablo) on a 99+ GT with just bolt ons? I would really appreciate real dyno numbers not SOTP meter. I don't want to spend $300+ for something only adds a few Hp.

Thanks

I wouldn't buy one simply for hp gains. The power is noticeable, but the main reason I bought one was so I could fix the speedo and pick up a couple ponies in the process.Automatics can benefit even more prom a programmer with different shift points, firmer shifts, etc.

The diablo predator states I believe a 10% to 15% increase in HP to the rear wheels and they are saying to expect anywhere from 15-20 hp. I don't have any dyno numbers since the car is only 2 weeks old, but I can tell a difference.

may be a little OT, but I was watching Horsepower TV and they used a hypertech on an 03 Cobra and got something crazy like 40 hp! I was muy impressed!

Yeah, the supercharged cars get huge gains, but nothing in comparison to the diesels, they get like 70hp. The only thing I can figure is that they are tuned WAY down from the factory.

I think they have a very good product, probably the best in the market.

The Predator was created with one thing in mind, POWER!
Average power gains are in the 15-20 RWHP range. The Predators additional power makes itself noticeable immediately with an increase in power that starts in the low RPMs and builds into a frenzy at the high RPMs.

A Predator equipped vehicle will notice significant improvements in drivability. The additional power and improved shift patterns created by the Predator tune will yield quicker acceleration and better mileage, whether it is in town or out on the highway.

The power increase in the lower RPMs will yield a better throttle response. The increase in MPG is a byproduct of maximized engine efficiency, the improved timing curve and air/fuel ratio creates a more complete combustion, i.e. the engine extracts more power from each molecule of gasoline.

DiabloSport has generated all dyno tested tunes.

Predator tunes re-map the:

Fuel Curves
Timing Curves
Extend Speed Limiters
Extend Rev Limiters
DiabloSport Performance tunes require the use of Super Unleaded / Premium grade or 91 octane fuel only, like carried by Amoco/BP, Sunoco or Mobil.

Both make good products, I have the Hypertech for my Cobra... and like it alot. I say do as much research as you can, visit both websites and read up on it and choose the one YOU like the best. :nice:
