First Run at the Track

I drove a Dirt Modified race car for about 5 years, so I've had practice at "easing" the gas :D
Ahhhh, there's the secret - I knew there had to be something else to this story - Dave's just a hell of a driver!
Really nice Dave, awesome numbers, excellent tips. :nice: :hail2:

Thanks :p

I wasn't the best at dirt racing but you learn alot about throttle control. Having all the horsepower in the world doesn't help if you can't put it on the ground. My car had a half of tank of fuel in it and my spare tire in the trunk. My friend was like "Dude, you need to shed the weight". Little did he know that extra weight on the back just helped the rear-end settle, allowing a better weight transfer on launch. I laugh everytime I see people taking everything out of their cars and running with their low fuel light on. The lighter the back of the car is, the harder it is to get your weight to transfer on launch.

i have all the vert crap in the back so i pull all the weight out. but seeing as you learned to modulate the throttle on a dirt track, im sure with a little more practice you could make it into the low 1.9s or high 1.8s on the stock set up

Most definitely but its not going to happen with the rubber I've got on the rear now. They're just about bald. With a set of slicks, 1.9's and 8's will be easy. I'm just not sure what I'm going to do about what set of rims and slicks to put on there. Plus I need new tires on the rear of the car for daily driving. So thats a couple hundred right there.

I hope with slicks 60' is lower than 1.8
