I am 42 years old and interested in the new Mustang. The style reminds me of the muscle cars of my youth. So I was thinking, who is Ford's target market for the new Mustang? Is it the over 40 crowd (baby boom generation), or is it targeted more towards the younger generation? I'm just wondering if the younger generation is going to be turned off by the retro styling of the new Mustang.

I think Ford hit it right on the head... It appeals to those that couldn't afford the 67-68 Mustangs when they were young but now can, and those younger guys like me, just LOVE it.. Most do anyway. It's such a nice car. I've seen 6 in person, and they get better and better everyone I see! I think they got both the middle aged and youth with this one. It's a spectacular car.

The 05 will appeal to enthusiasts of all ages. It will especially move those who have witnesssed Mustang's history through the decades. Ultimately, the car will appeal to people in their 20s and 30s as well. When I picked up my car in San Diego today, people were all over it. The dealer says that guys were taking pictures of it all day long. Ladies of all ages were attracted to this car, just wanting to sit in it.

As far as who buys what, I bet the average GT buyer will be a guy like me: 40 yr olds who have owed Mustangs in the past. I think the V6 will be a very popular car with younger buyers. For $21,000 or so, they will be able to buy a gorgeous car with incredible power. After all, the current V-6 is only 15 hp shy of a 1990 GT.

It's a golden era for the Mustang!

there is quite a bit of range spread that I've seen interested in the 2005 mustang. Ford has definitly got a winner on their hands, now all they gotta do is deliver on the product. How long after order do I have to wait? come on Ford... bring that pony home to daddy.

I'm 23 and i love it. I might not be getting one for a while, but the styling is what i love.

I wasn't alive during the 60's. but i wish i was. The classics appeal to me and this is a nice way to "relive" the 60's

Their target market seems to be fairly wide: Us older folks who want to go back in time a bit, and for the race driven young bloods - this car seems to have hit the mark.

I say congrats to Ford.

Im 22 and I love the new stang. Cant wait to actually see 1 in person.Hopefully the dealership near my house will get them when they say. If they do I might go for a test drive within the next two days.
