Looking to buy a 2000 cobra motor complete and slap a vortech s-trim on it. Will these motors hold up to the boost or would I be better off building a forged 2v? Thanks for your help!

2000 cobra ? Where when ? The R was the only 2000 I know of . Is that what you mean?

lets just assume that it's a 2001 motor. Answer is NO. If you want to do this right you need to forge the motor, IE rods and pistons. You can run boost on these motors but how much and for how long is not alot in either area.

Ford sells complete 2000 cobra motors and trannys. Its on their website if you don't believe me. They are brand new for $6000. I guess i'll start building my 2 valve then. I really didn't want another t45 tranny anyway. I want to do a TKO 600. :D

I know 4 guys that have been running 540+ rwhp on stock internals for more than a year. Probably only a matter of time before it blows up but it is still impressive in my opinion. 8 psi is actually pretty safe on these engines. Problem is you'll always want more power so... :D
