Ive noticed whenever I first start driving I have trouble getting it into second...I either have to force it in or do it real slowly...once the car warms up it goes in smooth...Now that its been cold it's even ah rder toget to second when first starting...If I were to get a tri ax would it help allievate this or make it worse since its firmer?

What i do before i drive away at the start of everyday,and after work after sitting all day,(hot day or cold day),i go through the gears about three times.The trans must let the fluid run through the gears.
And i've never had a grind,or any other symptoms that most expirience.

The TSB and/or switching trans fluid should help.
Switching to an aftermarket shifter won't solve this issue if it is related to the operating temperature of the transmission fluid (but a new shifter is STILL a good mod, so you might as well get one -heh).
Unfortunately, when the weather gets really cold outside, the trans fluid needs some time to "warm up" before shifting becomes smooth. There's no doubt that once the car reaches operating temp, the drivetrain responds much easier.

when it warms up, the synchro's grip better and the dog-teeth will line up. mine grinds when i shift hard into second when cold. after thats it's fine.

I have read that Texco (Havoline) Dexron III is the best fluid to use.
It seems a little better but is still there (clunk/grind).
I will take it in for thr TSB after the winter.
As for a aftermarket shifter... don't do it until the dealer looks at your tranny.
The short throw shifter just amplifies the problem so don't give them any reason to not fix your transmission! (they would not look at mine with the Triax on!)
