can any N/A stang keep up with a newer vette?

Yes, you can beat a Vette.Check the "time slips" part of the forum, you can see what mods the users have and the times they are running.
Could be pretty tough to hold the Vette off, if you were to race further than a 1/4 mile though.

Stang? There are quite a few mustangs out there that can destroy near stock LS1's. You don't know much about Mustangs do you?

well i kno that stangs come with 260hp, and vettes come with 400+hp, thats why i am asking. no need to be rude about it :notnice:

vette's don't have 400+ hp stock, unless you are talking about a z06. if you want to see what a N/A stang can do......do a search for KenB :nice: he's more than 2 seconds quicker than a stock c5 ;)

1. nothing rude about anything I said

2. No corvette comes with 400+hp (Z06 barely breaks 400 with 405).

3. Factory HP rating don't mean jack ****.

4. Amount of HP doesn't always dictate how a car performs

I am not sure whats going on here, but if its my understand we are talking about stock vehicles here...

A stock GT Mustang vs. stock Corvette (non-z06)
I guess you dont even need to get too technical here...
GT Mustang = 260 HP stock
Corvette C5 = 350 HP stock
Corvette C6 = 400 HP stock

With equal driver skill, I dont see how a stock Mustang would be able to beat a stock Corvette in a drag race. Although you pay for it, the Corvette's engine is superior to the Mustang's in just about every way...

If you move out of the drag realm into everyday street driving, the Corvette pounds the Mustang into the ground with far superior handling, allowing more application for its already superior power. I am comparing relatively equal condition cars as well.

Again, a Corvette is a lot more expensive.

If you put all the money you could buy a Corvette with into a GT Mustang, you could pummel a Corvette in drag times, and depending on where you put your money, you could win a handling race too. Although, its a lot of work to emmulate the handling quality of a Corvette

This guy is N/A ( no turbos, blowers, nitrous) and he runs 10s. http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=515768&highlight=Ken Pretty dang amazing.

I didnt click the link, but i bet your talking about Ken :hail2: a stock vette would destroy Kens car in the twisties though. A set-up like Kens would be needed to KILL a vette in the 1/4 though. Some weight reduction, cams, LT headers, o/r midpipe & catback, a good tune, DRs, 4.10s (or even 4.30s), UCAs/LCAs and i think you would be able to pull it off (N/A of course).

or just do it w/ gears, exhaust, and nitrous :nice:

98-2004 C5 Vette has 350hp and usually runs low 13's in the 1/4mi. There are many GT's out there that do that with minor bolt ons (i.e. no power adders). So yes a modded GT can easily run with a regular C5 in the 1/4 with little problem but what else is new.

Other than the z06 I don't have any problems with the vettes at the track.
