Is there an easy fix to this or do I need to take it in? My warranty is expired but I believe since this is a "safety" issue they will fix it. Any of you guys have/had this problem.
On my '99 the locking mechanism was sprung open and I wasn't able to pull down my passenger seat belt.
Fortunately under the safety warranty (I was told it's 50k) it was covered although you're required to pay for the service if it's not a parts failure like you're probably getting now. They had me agree that if it were something I caused (such as the belt being tied up behind the scenes) I'd have to pay out of pocket.
When I was installing my Cobra Daytona seat in the car I removed that back seat. I found white pieces of plastic. Turns out its part when the belt rolls up. The plastic keeps the belt from binding as it is pulled in. I will check with the dealer on the fix.
I had them replace mine once already at a dealership, next time I go in for warranty work I am going to have to get them to fix it again. Its a pain the seatbelts just dangling.
