MGW's New Shifter

Got it installed this morning. All I can say is what a difference over the Tri-ax!!! No more clicky shifts as with the tri-ax. No tranny whine whatsoever. I used to be able to feel the tranny thru the shift ball, but not anymore. The first thing I noticed when I got out on the highway and cruised with it in was no noise from the tranny. Shifting is very smooth and quiet. The handle is able to be positioned exactly where it feels best for you. I will recommend this shifter to anyone. This is simply the best shifter out there!

I got both handles and I used the blue one. The pleather boot doesn't look any different than before. The rubber inner boot fit right over the shifter. They send a silicone gasket to use if you don't want to RTV the shifter to the tranny. The instructions are very clear and precice with plenty of pictures to reference to. Setting up the shifter stops was a snap. All hardware that you need is included. Seems like they thought of everything.

There's a 20-page thread over on fordpower.net regarding this shifter...in fact, George Ciamillo from MGW is responding to questions directly.

I'm waiting until all the bugs are worked out before buying one...George is currently making revisions on the T5/T45 shifters due to fitment issues, and the 3650's have had a problem with the stop bolts...he posted a warning here

I only have 500 miles on my Pro 5.0...and I'll take it in the shorts if i try to sell it on eBay...so I'm waiting a bit before diving in on the new MGW shifter.

How short are the throws? Is it shorter or about the same as the Tri Ax?
