Ok, so I found an 85 TC sitting in a yard near me. The owner told me to take what I want. My question is this. I only have my car and no way to pull the entire engine. I don't know many people around here and the ones I do know don't have a wench truck or anything. My wife would kill me if I brought the whole car home. So what should I get off of it? I was planning on getting the turbo, manifold, intake, head and computer. What else can I get? Is there an easy way to pull the pistons? Or if I completely strip the upper half of the motor how hard would it be to get the lower out? Any suggestions?

Take the whole thing and tell the wife "Chill honey bunny, chill!" Part it out saving anything of value. Sell what you don't want and make a little $ cha ching $ off it. Rent a truck or even better pay someone with a flatbed to grab it and drop it at your place.

Ahhh...if only it was that easy. Seriously though, even if my wife didn't mind a donor car sitting at the house I just don't have any place to keep it. Can't park on the street and no driveway space. So the only option is to take whatever I can un-bolt and throw in my ride.

rent a hoist and pull the engine. You can probably rent one of those hoists on trailer wheels and tow it to the site. Then, yank the engine, and drop in in your pickup/car/friends truck. Then, drop the engine off at the garage and return the hoist. If all else fails, 3 large guys can lift a 2.3t. strip it to the shortblock, and 2 guys could do it.

If you want to do a swap, you'll need it's ECM, entire engine, perhaps the trans too. You'll also want to look into the rearend. The wiring harness is all but a must have. If you try to install a turbo on your standard 2.3 block, you may regret it soon thereafter. Your internals aren't as good, and the 2.3T block has the oiling line for the turbo. It's only best to have all of it. Otherwise you'll need to mix and match and hope for the best.

I would just spend the day stripping everything off the car possible.
Hey now one big guy can cary the 2.3L engine across the shop. Okay I did just about put my back out and it was the long block.
The rear end is nice to have as well as the engine and all the fun stuff to make it work.
I also pulled TC seats and put them in my 90 convert. Being the large guy I am those seats fit my ass like a lazy boy recliner.
As well if it is equiped with a T5 i know they are going for a pretty penny around here.
