SLP is one mean catback!

SLP is great quality but if you want quality buy Borla. Whoever said it is loud and raspy is correct. Also whoever sound it sounds like 60's muslce car what are you smoking? SLP sounds nothing like a 60's muscle car. Best way to make your car sound like a muscle car is #1 buying vt stage 2 cams, those things give you a deep idle, #2 O/R H-pipe #3 Chambered Muffler.

Chambered Mufflers dont produce great HP gains

I know, I dont care right now though. When I start making some big power and actually need to worry about how much horsepower my exhaust is giving them then I will switch, but for lightly to mildly moddified GT's there is a small difference in the power between straight through and chambered mufflers. I didnt say they did produce great HP gains I said SLP sounds absoultely nothing like a muslce car and my suggestion as to how to get your car to sound like one.

Sorry, but I think your confused as to what that classic musclecar sound is because it surely isn't Flowmaster. That company only got started in 1983 and we all know that real musclecars were around for years before Flows were invented. Flows are the sound of the '80s, not the '60s or early '70s.

A few funny posts in this thread..............

Cat-back's on GT's don't do too much power wise. So does it really matter if you go chambered or not. You're talking maybe a 5 rwhp difference.

And who cares if SLP now makes products for Mustangs. I guess they were supposed to go out of bussiness because the F-body died?

Haha flowmasters sound much more 60's muscle car than SLP. Why are you telling me about when the company got started? That doesnt mean there product cant sound like something that was around 30 years before. You want to talk about when a product got started SLP just started doing mustangs, flowmasters have been on mustangs a hell of a lot longer than SLP has. Flows are the closest sound you are going to get to muscle car on our cars, so might argue MAC is but like I said any chambered muffler will give you a more muscle car sound than a straight through muffler. Apparently you dont know what a 60's muslce car sounds like if you think SLP sounds like it.

LOL! Another youngster that thinks he knows everything just because you grew up listening to Flows ... You go ahead and keep thinking that they are the sound of the 60's because you're wrong, I don't care what you say. Do you even know what a true chambered exhaust sounds like? ... and I'm not talking about your precious Flows either.

I said Flows sound more like a 60's muscle car than any other exhaust for our car. You think SLP sounds more like a 60's muslce car then flowmaster does? Well I dont know what the difference is between a true chambered exhaust and a false chambered exhaust as far as I can tell flowmaster is a true chambered exhaust. Again SLP sounds absolutely nothing like a 60's muscle car and flowmaster sounds much much more like one than SLP does.
