$1400 Dilemma...

Looks like the deal for the beater might fall through :(

This is the second time in 2 months that I've had a beater car I was about to buy and something happens. First my room mates old Sentra for which breaks down a few days before I'm supposed to buy it and now this. AAARRRRG!

I might end up having to bum rides off the GF a little longer. It's impossible to drive the Cobra in this weather and that's not even taking into account the issue of salt or the risk of stupid people sliding into it.

I took a look at it just now. 1989 4cyl vert, 100k miles, 5 spd, no radio, peeling paint, beat up interior, very minor rust, different color hood. Do you think I'd be going too low for offering $700? Maybe $800? Also, how is it going to handle in the snow even with wieght in the trunk?

I took a close look at it, and also noticed that it didn't have a headliner in it, and some seals around the pass side window were misaligned. The floor pan was nearly mint however. A bonus is that it has a 5 speed in it. I think that $500 would be a reasonable offer. It'll do alright in the snow, if it's got some decent all season radials on it. Better then a 2 wheel drive mini truck would do for sure. I drove a 4 cyl coupe in Kansas snow and it did alright.
