Any one else have this problem? I just got my Torch Red 5spd GT with leather Med parchment interior, IUP Mycolor, shaker 500, bullit wheels, 12-28 and I love everthing about it.I cant stop driving it, trying to find places to go to drive it,thinking about the next time Ill drive it. I have been waiting for this car seams like forever. This is my first new car, I have bought my wife her fourth new car and my two girls their first cars so now its my turn.

I was looking for a sports car that I could fall in love with and was exciting to drive. I started out with the 350Z and the RX-8. I test drove both, eliminated the 350Z(cant rotate the tires, cant recline the seats) and was ready to buy the RX-8 when I saw the first pics of the new Mustang.I knew I had to wait to test drive it to see if it was as great to drive as itr was to look at. My son and family wanted me to buy the RX-8.You know the RX-8 is a great car ,and everyone thats owns one told me they love it. But its so quiet and you have to rev it way up, like all the forieign imports, to get the power. It feels more like a luxury car than a sports car.

Is it just me or does anyone else feel that a sports car just has to have that growl? Its kind of like a Harley motorcycle , its all about the right sound and attitude. I mean the imports like Honda have the 4 and 6 cylinders down to an art but theres just no replacement for displacement, you just cant beat an american v8. Now that Im driving my 05 Mustang I know I made the right decision.I see 350z's and RX-8's all the time but they dont get a second look, my Mustang steals all the attension.

Looks like most of us new 05 owners have choose the bullit style rims also.I think they go best with the retro look, I think the Bright machined rims looked too busy.

I cant beleive all the attension this car attracts. I was at a Discount Auto, some one says hey theres a new Mustang in the parking lot, I grin and say its mine.Next thing you know all the salsemen are outside checking her out.

Congrats, I know what you mean. I have had the same experiance with mine. :D , And I can't think of any other similarly priced new car that gets as much attention as the New Stang. While yes it will be short lived, maybe a few months, but for now I know what it must be like to own an exotic, EVERYONE notices. :nice:

No way! I disagree. The only time the novelty wore off driving my 1995 GT was when I got my 2005 two months ago. I loved driving that '95 every day I drove it. I looked forward to driving it whenever I had the chance. Of course what may have kept the novelty going was the intake, exhaust, suspension mods that I made to it over time. Now, I just can't get myself to drive it anymore with the 2005 sitting along side it. However, the '95 is still a great car and a classic!

Well, I know I never get tired of my Mustangs, even pulling the car covers off and staring, or applying a fresh coat of Zaino. Enjoyment of Mustangs come in many different flavors

I drive alot for my job, so I putz around in a little Ford Aspire daily, so you can imagine what a V8 Mustang feels like after work or the weekends! So get tired of it you ask? You have alot to do with that, enjoy your horse!

Oh, and I still badly miss my first Stang, a 1985 SVO, wish I had it back.

I can't drive mine as often as I would like because the weather is bad and I don't like to bring her out in bad weather. The day before yesterday I took her to the car wash with my girlfriend and my girfriend got three shades of upset and beating on me because so many females were looking and waving. Of course I was loving the attention.

Congrats on the new ride, you sound like I did when I first got my '01. Don't worry, the novelty will eventually wear off and soon it'll be almost just like any other car you've had in the past.

No way! I have to disagree! I too have an 01 GT and I still love to drive it. Every time I get into the car and start it up, I love it! Enjoy the 05!!

I have about an additional 8,000 miles on my Mach from the "Can't stop driving craze" Don't worry it will wear off and you'll still love your can just as much, just won't feel the need to drive it as much.

Don't worry the excitment will wear off. A year from now when there are thousands of them on the roads people will stop staring. They haven't stopped staring at my mach though.

Hey same here, people still stare at my Mach also and everyone on the damn highway has to try and drag me. It's taken alot of resonsability in order for me to not be a complete showoff and loose control. Lol, i've even had an F-350 V-10 screw around with my on the G.S. Parkway tonight lol

I figure the 05 will slowly become more numerous come sping maybe, but then I'm looking to add a few body parts and window tint, white stripes and all to look more like a 68 shelby. Then my plain 05 will deffinited be unique again. Thats the beauty of our Mustangs, with so many after market parts available its easy to customize them and make them unique to suite your own tastes.

As far as my Mustang getting familiar like any ohter car I have had, I have worked since I was young, got married early, started a family and never got to have any cool, fast cars. So this one is my first new car, and pretty much my first fast one. I have never had anything like it to compare.

I have alwyas wanted a 68 GT fastback to fix up and customize. Its like if I could have asked Ford to make me a new old Mustang 68 GT fastback that looked like the old but drove like new. The 05 is pretty much exactly what I wanted the looks of the old, the performance of new. My brother had a new 68 when I was a kid so this is my 68 for my generation.

Onelast thing I think is cool. I looked at my window sticker in my glove box and I see my name is a line on the sticker. I have never orderd a car before and may never order another one, might never buy another new one , so I thought that was pretty cool.

I'm 54, but feel like a lucky teenager every time I get behind the wheel of my new GT! I have bought plenty of family cars, but like others, this is the first car I bought for ME since my '65 GTO in high school - and the thrill is back! Putting a lot of miles on it, just because it feels so good, and gets so much attention here in England! It will take longer for the novelty to wear off over here - everyone who sees it, basically, have never seen one yet - you can imagine the stares. Have had several take pics of it from their cars, which is a first for me! With the price difference here, I will probably be able to sell it in 3 years for what I paid - but only if there is something else as special to buy at the time. Of course, by then it will have a lot of miles on it, but more miles, more smiles!

Well I don't think I'll be getting tired of mine anytime soon. It's becoming more comfortable for me to drive because im getting use to the feel and handeling. It just keeps getting better and better. And everytime I do a small upgrade it just gets better. Im smiling from ear to ear everytime I drive it!

No it doesn't, i get the same smile on my face every time i slip behind the wheel of my '03 or '88 and go for a 20-mile drive just to get gas at a gas station down the road.

Everytime i drive any of my Mustangs, i always take the long way to get somewhere just for an excuse to drive them.

Any other car, i would be bored by now...but not a Mustang

you just had to try and make this thread about you. Isn't there a forum for old mustangs why don't you go there and brag about your out of date mustang :nonono:
