i have an 83 stang gt and I came into some money so i'm putting it in my suspension...

i've already ordered a lower chassis brace and a strut tower brace

here's the question what are the best quality shocks for the price, i'm ordering BBK Gripp lowering springs in spring and it'll all be installed together so basically what shocks would go good with them for around $150?

FWIW, look into a set of better quality springs. Maybe Mac Progressive Rates, FMS "C" Springs, or even Jamex. I'd stay away from BBK suspension products, the bbk lca and uca tend to bind alot and i had a friend with those springs on his car and it really wasnt all too much hotter then stock....just my .02

Before you do anything at all to the suspension, you should improve the structure of the unibody. The Stangs have a VERY flexible unibody - and quality suspension components are only as good as the chassis they go in. The braces you're talking about are fine, but they do little to solve the real challenges of the flexible chassis. Before you do anything else - have a quality set of subframe connectors welded in. If you're really serious about handling, adding a quality weld-in roll cage will REALLY help stiffen things up. Then those juicy new suspension bits will actually be able to do their job without having the unibody flexing like spaghetti. Lastly, I'd upgrade the brakes before I upgraded the suspension - safety first.
