Where is the air silencer on my 01 Cobra and what will it do for me by removing it. Just curious.
Ive got a ton of points and questions to ask but very little time to ask as of yet. Maybe tonight.

the air silencer runs from the body to the intake air box. its a very short little hose/tunnel thing. i pulled it just to see what it does and it does nothing in particular. my exhaust seemed like it got like 5% louder and thats about it. there is much debated over this piece of rubber so try it and see what it does. doesnt hurt anything.

I noticed a difference, very small, but atleast a little exhaust change. The main question, is cooler air from the fender, through a straw. Or definately a little more air flow, maybe warmer, but I won't put mine back on. until I finally get a CAI. You might have to pull off the stock air box, to get it off, but should only take ten min. or so. do it! chris

Thanks for the response and input. Anyone by chance have a photo of where it is. Just dont want to be yanking stuff off. Its friggin cold here (even in the garage) and I only want to do it once hehehehehe

Here are a few.

What about the JLT RAI...will that only suck in hot air??? I would imagine and have heard it is much better than stock, and no I dont think I want their CAI because of the "puddle" issue...

In general, the benefits of the increase in airflow will be more than the loss due to hot air. The amount of hot air drawn into the engine will be minimal, though, while the car is moving since most of it will be removed from the engine compartment.

I saw where some guys are using the flex tube and running it to both of the ports near the fog lights and putting mesh over them. Running both to a Y and into the CAI. Too much air???
