I've done the brake pads on my 98 GT before and had no problem, but I've been told that since my 2001 GT has ABS, I have to prevent the brake fluid from backing up into the master cylinder? I was given a tool from a friend to "crimp" the line, but when and where is this necessary to do and can i just avoid it all together and do the pads without worrying about this? Thanks for the help

If you're worried about it, just crack the bleeder as you compress the piston. This also prevents the fluid from spilling out of the master. A quick 1-2 pump bleed will purge any air you may have sucked in. I usually flush the lines anyway when I do a brake job. Brake fluid is cheap and fresh fluid really helps on those high speed braking manuevers.

Don'y worry. You need to compress the piston back into the caliper in order for the new pads to able to slip over the rotor(new pads more material). As long as you don't top off the master before doing the brake job the master won't overfill.
