buy a 5.0 a 2.3 when you put your money into a 2.3 you still wont be able to beat a 5.0 and all the money that you will be spending modding a 2.3 you could just buy a 5.0
From what i can understand (not much), this guy is telling you to swap in a 5.0. obviously he has no knowledge on these 2.3 motors and he has no clue what he is talking about. a STOCK 2.3T will easiely keep up with a V8 and leave some in the dust. here are some good reasons to stay 2.3:
1. it is basically a direct swap, one of the easiest i have ever done.
2. putting a V8 in to a 2.3 is a hell of alot of work. (motor mounts, all new wiring, new tranny, driveshaft i think, rear-end is a good idea, exhaust..and the list goes on and on..
3. a V8 swap is 10x more expensive, for the same reasons above.
4. would you like 8-15 mpg or 22-28mpg with the gas prices as they are?
5. V8s are twice as heavy.
6. more unique (every fox stang has a 5.0)
7. the pull/boost of a turbo is very fun and addicting.
8. the sound of a turbo spolling up is vert fun and addicting.
9. if you want a 5.0, then buy a 5.0. they are on every lot.
10. there are twice as many things that could go wrong with a V8, the 2.3's are bulletproof.
11. It's already a 2.3, keep it a 2.3
12. If you dont know much about engines and would like to learn alot, the 2.3 is a very good/simple motor to learn off of.
13. easier to maintain and work on.
14. with very few/cheap mods, you will be able to leave BUILT 5.0s and other SB and BB V8s in the dust.
.............the list goes on and on, and i garrantee you will fall in love with your results, as will everyone else in this forum.
HAVE YOU EVER SEEN MANY V8'S GO WELL OVER 300,000+ MILES AND STILL BE IN GREAT RUNNING CONDITION?
Sorry 2.3l driver, but you just got
