Car Meet On Saturday, May 14th at Valley Forge Park in Valley Forge, PA

When: Saturday, May 14th
Rain Date: Saturday, May 28th

Where: Valley Forge Park in Valley Forge, PA.

What Time: 3 PM

The parking lot where the meet is being held is right on Route 23. If you take Route 422, get off at the Route 23 Valley Forge exit. When you get to the traffic light at the park entrance, turn right and go about a mile down that road. The parking lot will be on your right hand side. Just to give you an idea, this is right before you turn into the parking lot.............

Valley Forge Park is only minutes from many major roads......422, PA TurnPike (276), Blue Route/NE Extension/476, and 76. It is also only minutes from the King of Prussia Mall so there are plenty of places to grab some food or if you bring the wives or girlfriends, they can do some shopping if they want.

Last meet I had at Valley Forge about 40 cars showed up on a day that had heavy rain in the forecast.

Yes, I will have another one soon.....probably sometime in late June maybe.

Congrats on the marriage, have a great honeymoon. And let me know if your wife feels like buying another car for a gift. I'll glady accept.

Damn! I went to high school at Wissahickon (Ambler). Wish I had seen this earlier - I could have made the trip. Looks like it was a blast.

What years did you go there.....I played against Wissahickon in some ice hockey games back in high school (around 1998). I'm about 40 minutes from Ambler.

What color was your Saleen, mayeb I've seen it around? I just posted in your thread about your Supra.

I graduated in 1990. Ice hockey? We didn't have that when I was there. My folks still live there, but I've been in the Air Force for almost 11 years now. My Saleen was True Blue, but was only up there once in a while. My dad had it and drove it periodically from July to Dec 2001 while I was deployed. Right after that I moved to Texas which is where I was when Ford bought it back.

Gotcha... I thought they had a varsity IH team now. Where is there to play? I don't even recall a skating rink in the area. Haven't heard of Richter, but then I don't really follow the sport much.

Yea, probably not mine... last I heard mine was at a dealer in Houston, TX trying to be resold (feel sorry for whoever gets it).

I'm in Virginia now (Langley AFB). There are no Air Force bases in PA, which is fine w/ me since my income is not taxed by PA unless I live in the state.

What about Willow Grove Air Force base? I heard they may be shutting that down.

NAS Willow Grove only has AF Reserve and Air National Guard. I'm active duty so I can't be assigned there. Yea, it is on the BRAC list to be closed. I was amazed since it is the quintessential "joint" base. It also has Marine and Naval Reserve units there.

Well, it was actually bought back in Del Rio, TX and Ford can of course sell it again. I think it was auctioned off to a dealer in Houston, but whether or not they listed it as a buy-back I don't know. I did a Carfax a while back to see what it said... the results did not show a buy-back and didn't show the accident from a couple months after I bought it. My insurance company knew about it, so did the insur. company of the bonehead who hit it (while it was parked), and there was a police report. Needless to say I do not put the same faith in Carfax I used to.

I never trusted carfax. I've heard of numerous stories like yours. Not every accident is on their report.

Enjoy the Supra. I looked into getting one awhile back.
