Also posted this in the V6 forum but the general 05 Stang crowd might be interested as well. Now, for the inevitable knuckle-head who accuses me of "trying to make my 6 sound like a GT", nothing could be further from the truth. I love my V6 and don't understand those that try to make theirs something it aint. Besides, plenty of GT owners have installed Flowmasters in their cars. If, as some would suggest, I'm trying to make my 6 sound like a GT, then what would a GT owner with switched exhaust be trying to make his vehicle sound like?

Had a Flowmaster Series 40 Delta Flow installed yesterday in my V6 and what a difference...now THAT'S an American car sound! Definitely some increased interior noise but well worth it given the low rumble (but far from obnoxious) outside. It may have boosted the hp but I'm not certain; may just be my imagination and I'll give it a couple tanks of gas to see if mileage increases as some have suggested. Regardless, it's a very worthwile, relatively cheap mod. and one I'd recommend to any V6 (or GT) owner.

Way ta go, man! I wish I knew what it sounded like. I'd like to have a V6 if it sounded awesome enough. It's tough for me to accept things the way they are, since I drive a F150 with a V8 that has flowmasters, and it sounds awesome!

If you want to get a real good idea of what the V6 with the Delta Flow sounds like just go to the Flowmaster web site...they have a sound clip of one installed on a 1990 5.0 and the sound is almost exactly what my V6 sounds like now! All I did was stop off at the local Midas and they had me out of there within an hour. Nothing other than the muffler was replaced and it cost $200 including the chrome exhaust pipe tip. Maybe someone else could have done it for a few dollars less but in my book I'll pay a few extra bucks for fast, good service. Especially considering the dramatic difference in the sound of my V6 (and possible MPG and hp benefits) it was well worth the price.

I'm about to do the same thing

I'm excited to hear your are happy with the flowmaster 40 series delta flow in your v6. I just got an 05 mustang v6 and have been hearing a lot of people say that a flowmaster wouldnt sound nice in the v6. But see what you have said I am definately going to but and install this weekend. Does anyone know how if its any easy installation. I am pretty sure it is just clamped and my buddy said it shouldnt be difficult to install, but I want to make sure before I have him do it. otherwise i'll pay the extra money and have a shop do it.

I have a classic 40 2 1/2 on my 6 and the thing sounds awesome. I have a 2 1/2 dump thats turned down 45 degrees. Sounds oh so sweet.

I will go take a pic and edit my post in a moment.
