FINALLY!! I started around 3, and I went ahead and pulled the heads off. Number 1 cylinder had water markings in it, and the plug was cleaner than the rest, so I figure there was water getting in there. I put a straight edge on both heads and checked them with a feeler gauge, and neither one were warped, so I should be good there. I replaced the head gaskets, and also the lower intake front and rear seals. They were still the stock pieces and they were both torn right in two, that can't have been good. I put it all back together, and after getting the firing order sorted out (some wires were crossed) and setting the timing, GOD does she run good! At least idling and revving. I haven't driven it on the street (still running rich) but she revs quick and smooth! Sounds mean as hell too. I gotta adjust the fuel pressure tomorrow, and set the idle, then figure something out about a breather, then she should be good to go. Anyway, I gotta jump in the shower, I bathed in antifreeze earlier taking off the lower radiator hose (to pull it to replace the balancer). Oh yea, did I mention I tore it all apart and put it back together in under 6 hours? lol
