last night i went to the track and ran a few times. the times were not what i expected, i was running 15.5 all night. i just installed the T56 tans, 17x9s with some sumitomos (trans and wheels r new), 3.73 gears, upper and lower control arms, port and polish heads and intake, E303 cam, 1.7 RR, long tube headers, off road X pipe, flowmaster 2 chamber, underdrive pulleys, electric fan, MAF conversion, 70mm throttle and spacer and 76mm meter. with my 5 speed, and stock upper and lower control arms, and tubine rims w/daytona tires i was doing 14.1 and 14.0 consistantly so what am i doing wrong i am suppose to be in the mid to hi 13s

How did your 60' times change? Did your MPH change? The T56 is going to use about 5% more power to turn(heavier components and an entire gear set extra). Do you have the close ratio 6 speed with a 2.66:1 first? If so this will potentially hurt your 60' times.
I just installed a viperspec T56 in my car. The reason for the overkill tranny is my 4 bannger T5 was on the way out and instead of replacing it with anouther I started putting my combo together for turbo use in a couple of years. I have the 2.66 first and I fully expect the car to slow down in the quarter for the reason listed above, however I won't think 1.5 seconds, this sounds a little excessive. Any other changes?
White smoke could indicate a bad head gasket.

i got the closest r/t times, and i do got the close ratio gears, but yeah i didn't think that my times would be that bad and 15.5 those are what i was running with just a cam and 3.73 gears two years ago plus being in texas the air should be better but i don't know, as for the smoke i think i know what it is one of the keepers on a valves came loose

do you have an afpr? how about timing? i have seen stock cars run much faster than what you have now.
obviously your losing some in your 60' time, but not 1.4 seconds and 7mph.
the trans will take another 10-15 hp TOPS to run, so i would attribute some of this to the new trans, but something else it really wrong.
how were your temps? white smoke usually means head gasket.
