Cancelled my '06 order. Bought a '69 Fastback

I can't believe it !! After waiting for so long for the new body style to come out (05) and then supressing the urge to buy a first year car I waited to order an '06. After ordering my '06 GT in June I was ready to go. Who knew that I would cancel it. While searching for parts for my yet to be delivered car I ran across a '69 Fastback. Well, I had to have it. Here she is ....

There's lots of work to be done yet, but I think I'll be more happy with the '69 than the '06. Sorry to sell out.

Dont be sorry!! Thats gonna be a helluva ride once your "done with it" (you'll probablly never be 'done'). What are you thinking as far as color, power train, etc? Are you gonna restore it back to original or hot rod it with new parts?

Two words for ya: Clay. Bar. :)

I've always dug the classics... She's gonna be a beauty!!
I got two better words

Soda Media Blast... Ok,, thats three :D

I had a 68 fastback once upon a dayin my youth.. I wanted another,, but did not find anything worth buying.. So the 05 GT will have to do for now.

I would like to keep it as close to stock as possible, but with that said, I do have a 390 big block and a 4-speed to replace the 302 and 3 speed. I'm going to paint it the original black jade. the original interior was ivy gold, dont know if I'll keep that or not though.
I'm going to get the entire body blasted, probably with walnut shells, less harsh than sand blasting. I'd like a wheel upsize, maybe go with the Halibrands that I like so much.

No need to be sorry!! I cant wait to see the Crate motor you drop in that baby, legally...!! Thats one of the things you have going for you, is the sky is the limit.. Take your time on it.. No need to rush.. :nice:

May I suggest "Candy Apple Red" with Black ralley stripes? May I also suggest a 429 CJ engine? Dreams are made in decisions like yours.!! Dont wake up.. Stay asleep.. :nice: :D

Here ya go my friend.. Happy bidding!! :nice:

It would be nice if u had both cars :nice: , I always wanted a 64-68, 67-68 fastback to be exact, I have a 05 GT Mustang now all i need its a classic fastback,

It's going to be soooo nice once it's done...don't feel like a sellout, you've just bought the car on which the '05 / '06 cars are styled on.

Enjoy it & don't forget to post pictures of it as you go along & when it's finished.

That's a really nice looking car with a lot of potential. No need to feel like a sellout. For one thing, people should feel like they can buy whatever their heart's desires, even if it's not a 'stang. And for another thing, you bought a car most people only dream about. Good luck on your project! :)

I have a 70 fastback andi ts gettn the works, 700 horse 431 FE ( 390 strokked) custom 9", , 5 speed, all power optioned, rakc and pinion, slammed 3", 17" FR500 rims. custom paint. it gets real expensive quick, but its sure fun when every1 looks at ur car on the road. and you got it, they dont...haha good luck with it and if you need help finding parts, or need any lemme know

Nice mustang, but what i'm more interested in is the '66 Fairlane sitting next to it!!

Whats the deal with that Fairlane and do you have pics of it ??
That car could be a beautiful muscle car with a 390.
