After five months of waiting, I got my GT!

OK, now I get to have my fun: I got my GT!

What a cool car! Two weeks into it and I have 1650 miles on it (but 1000 miles was the trip home from the dealer)

I ordered my 2005 Mustang GT on January 25, and got July 4 started off with a jolt... in the backside, heh heh heh... when I went tearing out of the lot in my brand new Mustasng GT! :D I took so long in part becvasue I ordered exactly what I wanted.

I got few options, actually: only locking wheel nuts and the IUP. The IUP really makes the car. I'm sticking with the stock rims and although I knew I liked them more than the upgraded wheels, I was really suprised by how good they look.

I decided to go aftermarket and for a cost of about US$ 1100 got a stereo that is killer; it's by Alpine and if you want to read about it it's called the "1K system". I've never had an aftermarket stereo before but heard lots of them. The aftermarket still has the most bang-for-the buck IMO. I head the shaker 500 and whiel good, it just doesn't compare.

I also got a sun/moonroof. Any others out there? I tinted the windows too (you have to in Arizona!).

Best part of it all is I Got it on X-Plan

Woo-hoo! Now to avoid speeding tickets if I can... :p

Moonroof...... YES! That is the one thing I always wanted in all three of my Stangs!

I am very happy you finally got the Stang. That is a long wait, but well worth it. The Screaming Yellow is beautiful.

Enjoy. Also, my thanks and gratitude for your Sig noting Romans 8:28 "...we know that everything works together for the good of those who love God"... remember that each time you get into your car, my friend! :nice:

Actually, moonroofs aren't an option on the 2005 Mustang. The last year they were a factory option was 1993. I had to go aftermarket to do it, and it came out great. Why Fors will offer a moonroof on a SUV but not their hot-rod?  I'm still trying to figure that one out.

Blk05 Retro: yep, it was reeeeeaaallly hard to keep it under the limit. :( The first 600 miles were in I-10 in Texas... we travelled it during the week, so an already wide open road was that much more desolate. Even at the posted speed limit of 75 you can feel like you're standing still... especially when you're in a machine that will do close to double that :D

Still a fun ride though... :nice:

Here are some pics...

Sorry I didn't have these before, but some had requested pics of the new machine.
I could only upload 2 pics... but enjoy!

Because Ford offers something even better? A convertible top on their hot-rod. :nice:

I think only Jeep offers a convertible top on an SUV.

Hi dmaxstang-

Thanks for the kind comments! :hail2: I really enjoy the moonroof.

The moonroof is installed by Classic Soft Trim, and they actually have a website: http://www.classicsofttrim.com
This model is the electric topslider, and has the interior sliding sunshade option (gotta have that in Arizona!). The dealer to have it installed it for me, and their people used Classic Soft Trim's products. Best of all was the price: about $800 installed. If you like I can find out more detailed info and PM you... let me know!

You are far from the last person to comment on how nice it looks. They did such a nice job a lot of people are suprised wehen they find out it isn't stock.

Best of luck getting yours! :)

If you don't mind my asking, how much did you end up paying and how did you get it on the X-plan? If your dealer is a good one to work with I would consider doing business with them, regardless of where they are in the country, since most of the ones around here turn into total douchebags when you try to talk with them about X-plan or anything else-bargaining wise on a GT.

Bucks!

Bear in mind my car has only two options - Wheel Locks and IUP - so it would be one of the less expensive ones anyway. That said, my car was right around $23,860. It's my understanding that the GTs have had a $600 increase in price :( since my order (January 2005), so bear that in mind.

KAUS - I sent you a PM with more detailed info. :nice:
