I noticed my reverse lights are not working when I put my car in Reverse. This happened when I first had the car too, but it was covered by warranty. I believe it was some sort of "switch" that when bad. Any ideas? I have a 5 speed by the way...

There is a sensor that plugs into the transmission opposite the filling hole. The sensor may have gone bad.

I had this happen to my car, but after checking it out on my own (Hard to get warranty work in Asia :nonono: ) I noticed that it was just loose. I pushed the sensor back into the transmission and haven't had issues again :nice:

I looked in my Haynes manual for this one. There are some good pics and info in there that tell you how to locate the reverse light switch where it plugs into the transmission. Do you have a Haynes manual?

No, I don't. Check this out. I went to the dealership yesterday to have my oil changed and I mentioned that the lights weren't working. I had no idea how much that switch was, I just wanted them to look at it. It was replaced under warranty the first year I had the car. I get a call from them and they said it was like $195 to fix. I refused and he said I was only responsible for the diagnosis. I went to pay and saw they charged $80 to diagnose the problem!!!!!!!!!!! I was so pissed. I know the service magager, so I think he may get a call from me. I would have never mentioned that if I would have known it costs $80 just to tell me it was the switch!
