Be carefull, depending on the car or truck it can happen, why else do they make degree shims for spring packs??

OK here is a mistake more common than you would believe. Remove a wheel and check for the little metal clips that hold the rotor to the hub for assembly. 99% of aftermarket wheels do not have the recess for these clips and will end up throwing the wheel off balance when you torque the wheels. I have also seen it cause brake pulsations. Check that and let us know. (I dont know how i ever found out about this

They ordered new tires and the same problem was there. So I had new Falkens which were quieter (the Falken supplier said that the older tires was not stored properly which was why they were very noisy).

Anyways, the shope foreman was into his lament that I traded the Pirelli/stock rim combo with inferior material. They were fine on the road force, it is basically my problem.

Until...

A young tech guy snapped off those clips.

Thanks and a big heads up to others. The dealer now knows what to do with aftermarket rims, a costly error on their part.

Luck for me, because without those clips the tires I originally had would have balanced, noise and all. now the car is so quiet and vibration free that I can hear my engine!

Wayne, what happens when I put on my stock rims for winter...will I need those clips?

No you wont need those clips, they are only there to hold the rotor on at the factory before the calipers are installed.

I just replaced my tires because of this same vibration at about 60+ mph.
I now have less vibration, but its still there. I'm a little disappointed, but now I have hope that it's these "clips".

I'd like to see a picture so I can take off my rims and see if the clips are there.

I've had like 5 cars lowered in the past and never had any side effects except tire wear...
Oh well, any pics would be greatly appreciated.

No need for pics, these clips go around the stud on top of the rotor "hat"
they almost appear to thread onto the stud it's self

Wow, nice find. BTW I've had problems with the sticky wheel weight coming off of my 17's. The wheel is never really flat on the inside of the spokes so as it rotates forces are always trying to pull them off.

When it first happened I thought someone had shot at my car. It was crazy loud.

The problem was finally fixed when I asked the tech to grind off the clear coat and finish and then attach the weights.
