Would this work? A guy I know has a buddy with an 03 cobra that he wrecked and bought back and is selling the parts for... he's got the 03 cobra heads and may not want that much for them...

To put those on my car is there anything else required? I thought I rememebr having to get a new intake if i do the headswap as well.... is there anything else?

just buy a cobra engine and save urself the wasted money and time
:stupid: Buy the whole engine, or don't bother. It will cost you more money and headaches to build it piece by piece than it will to buy it out right.

You are planning to stick with the forced induction route I assume, are you not?

Yeah if there is that much fabrication required then I will probably end up not going with any of the parts at all.

Yeah Gearbanger I'd like to, I've wanted to supercharge my car for 4 years now but I'm hoping to put that plan into action this winter. 2 buddies are ready and waiting to help me knock out the install over a quick weekend of beer drinking and wrenching. I just haven't hit the order button because everytime I go to order one I realize that I wouldn't have any cash in my bank account for when my motor blows from the s/c :(

Then that would be the best of both worlds buying the Cobra engine, right? You get the forged internals and the blower in one package. And since it's used, you should get it much cheaper than building your own.

Well that's the issue, his cobra engine isn't complete. He has the heads but I'm about 95% sure it's not the whole motor. He's got pieces and parts to the car all around his garage. I'm pretty sure the motor has a couple shot pistons as well... so buying the motor wouldn't really be an option.

Originally I was really hopingto just get an 03 cobra but i've sunk back to supercharging my GT and just keeping it, since it'll be paid off next september i should be able to save for whatever breaks after a s/c goes on my gt motor with the poopy stock bottom end
