Hi everyone... I just recently bought a 96 cobra... And with that I have a few questions for you all.... actually quite a few questions... here goes:
1) I need to replace the clutch soon... I wanted to upgrade but what clutch would you all rec? Something not too crazy...
2) While tranny is out should I replace anything else?
3) I wanted to get a clutch point adjuster kit... because I dont like how high the factory clutch point is set at. Any recs or opinions on those? And does anyone have a link on how to install them?
4) Whats the deal with the 17x10.5 rims in the back? Do they fit on with no problems? Or will there be some modifying required?

Thanks for any help you all can give me...

1. Don't know.

2. The T-45 is rather notoriously weak. If you plan on adding much power, I'd upgrade the tranny itself. The next mod for our 96 will be a Viper-spec T56.

3. Again, don't know.

4. I just installed 17x10.5 Bullits with 315/35 GS-D3's. The tire itself rubbed on the right quad shock. I have aftermarket lower control arms so I just offed the quads. They could be flipped if you prefer.

1. king cobra is just fine. it's an upgrade from stock and does the job and it's only $230 or $250 if i remember. depends what you wanna do in the future but for basic mods it's good.

I hear the FRPP King Cobra clutch is the way to go. I have read several forum threads about Centerforce clutches going out in less than 10k miles on our cars. I also have 10.5" rims with 285 Eagle F1's and no rubbing problems. However it depends on the backspacing of the wheel. Do an internet search on "backspacing" to understand it. I found a good diagram that explained it well.

Thanks for the input.... one more question regarding the wheels... are there any other options other than 10.5'' in the back? 10's 9.5''s etc...?

And what kind of rims do you guys have on your cobras? jw...
