Ok i've spent about an hour searching trying to find and answer
94 vert wit 120k on it AODE to t-5 swap. Since i got it i have bought Cross drilled slotted rotors and new pads all the way around. The drv rear pad was at the metal and i believe it was no sitting properly when installed because the top of the pad was gone but bottom still had 1/8". The pass side was at 3/16" with a perfect wearing pattern. When removing the calipers because they would not depress i noticed that one of the caliper slides on the driver side was rusted in so after some penetrating oil and so brute force i got it out cleaned both slides(the two pins that slide on the outside of the calipers) Oh and both of the calipers didn't depress (they were both completely out and appeared frozen that way) So after getting both calipers to work properly and grinding off the rust off all the slides and regreasing all of them, the rear Duralast Gold pads were put on with brand new cross drilled slotted rotors. Then bleeded brakes. Ok so thats the status of the rear, the front brakes and rotors appear in good condition, pads have about 1/2" worth of life and rotors and clean and straight (or atleast appear)
Symptom #1:Got the car in august, and it seems that when i come to a stop i get a pulsating feel through my brake pedal, it doesn't feel like ABS but more like my brake pedal was being plucked three times with a spring. Its also pretty loud like as if you were striking a spring. Every1 who gets in my loves to ask wat the sound was. There is no pattern for this, and acts the same before and after rear brakes were done.
Symptom #2 Occasionally the ABS light comes on for the DRV Rear ABS sensor but comes and goes with no pattern. (Buddy at Pepboys ran the ABS for me) Possibly Because i let the calipers hang overnite while i painted them? Could of stretched out the sensor cable? Does it no matter what gear i am in.
Symptom #3: When i'm cruising i can hear a clicking noise and it goes away when the brakes are applied. Coming from the front left i think. This would make sense to be a warped rotor causing the rotor on high spots to kiss the rotor rite?
I have new pads and rotors for the front but have yet to install because i wanna make sure i get all the problems worked out. my questions are:
What the hell is the feeling thru the brake pedal?
If my calipers are bad how do you tell?
Anything i should look for with the bad ABS sensor.
and any other help would be really appreciated
thanks in advance Mark
