any true restomodders ever think about a moonroof or a sunroof?
do u think it would look good?
would it weaken the structure of a coupe?
can anyone photoshop such a monstrosity?

Why not T-tops? You could then put a giant "screaming chicken" on the hood, grow a big mustache, buy some gold chains and call yourself Bandit!

Seriously...I saw a few of them done back in the day ('80s) when they were popular. They were the old type where it was just a peice of glass that could be removed. The modern types with power retracts would probably be very tough, since they are much thicker. You could always make a new headliner an lower the interior a few inches...but like I said that'd be tough.

If you do end up cutting your roof, send a PM to "68&00GT" he needs a roof repair panel for his Eleanor coupe.

the only way i would ever do that is to use the electric roof from a 68-70 cougar. it will have ford part numbers and actually be designed for our type of cars. it may be possible to adapt something from a later model ford like a granada, mark series lincoln, big body cougar, versailles or something like that but i'm sure it would be a royal pain in the butt. if you are serious about it do like i said and use a 68-70 cougar unit but be warned they are hard to find.

I saw this tub'd 66 coupe a couple of weeks ago,this this was nice from about 20 feet away,he has a 347 stroker,but couldnt find stickers for the air cleaner,so he used "340 mopar" on the air cleaner,had a decent interior,full guages,roll cage and then a rag top,What was he thinking :(

My car had a sunroof cut into it when I first got it. I have a different shell now. I was constantly hitting my head on the ski boot type latches, it leaked rainwater like a steady faucet right in my crotch whenever I turned right, and the windshield was split top to bottom (I don't know for sure if this was related). The sunlight coming in was nice though, but not nice enough for the down side (not to mention comments from others).

Actually, T Roofs have been on mustangs since the 70s, ford even made some FACTORY T roof coupe (YES COUPE) Fox bodied cars in the late 80s. they looked cool. Very similar to the Grandnationals

I owned two Cougars with the power sunroof! One car was a an XR7-G pretty rear car and the other was another rear model 67 XR7-GT "S" Code car! I did see about six months ago a 1970 Mach 1 with a Power sunroof, with a marti report, now thats rear. They did make Mustangs with the power sunroof, very rear and I've only seen a few in my life time.

Rear=rare ?
There is a local shop that is doing one right now. he didn't want to tell me what it was from like I'd sell the secret or something. But he put a lip in the roof so it wouldn't be butt welded. It's going to be power, and be factory looking. But I wouldn't think of it.

ive never seen a coupe
