It usually catches on the first try real quick but this morning I had to crank it quite a bit to get it to start.

Maybe I just got some bad gas or the IAC is sticking?

Mine does that at times, more when its colder...and mine's an 04. It starts no prob second try, but doesn't want to catch the first time. Just talk to her real nice and rub the dash a little next time. She just wants a little love and appreciation.

Hope this helps.....

I have an 00' and she has been doing this to me lately. Especially when it is cold and she has been resting for a few hours. I posted something about it a few weeks ago and had no responses. So I did a little problem hunting and started by talking to the guys here at the engine lab. They gave me a few suggestions:

1. The TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) might have a little bit of a delay and might not respond as it should all of the time.

2. The MAF could have a little road dirt/grime on it and read incorrectly.

3. The ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature) Sensor is reading differently from the IAT (Intake Air Temperature) Sensor. Depending on whether the ECT is high or low, it will be running to lean or rich respectively.

We hooked her up to a Snap-On Scan Tool, ran the KOEO test (Key On Engine Off) while she was cold and I received a P1116 Code (ECT Sensor out of Self Test Range). Also, the ECT and IAT were reading at different temps (about 9 deg. F). I bought a new ECT sensor the other day but haven’t had time to work on if this week. I am almost positive that’s what my problem is, yours could be different. If you have access to a scan tool, hook it up when she is cold and see if there is a difference in temp’s between the sensors I mentioned. Or if you get any codes by going through the self tests, depending on what tool you can get.

Hope this helps someone
