How big can you go

I am going to put 20s probably the axis GTR rims but i am curious how wide of a tire i can use. I have been looking and it looks like if i want to go wider then a 275 i will have to go with a 40 series tire. I am curious what other people have done and how wide i can go in the front and the back i was thinking either a 295 or 285/40/20 for the rear and 275/40/20 on the front. I was also considering lowering the car a bit just to make up for the huge gap between the tire and fender if there is any.

to keep the stock diameter with a 20 inch wheel and a 285 tire i believe you need a 30 series tire, a 40 series will throw your speedo way off unless you recalibrate yoru comp for the tire change, i believ this is how saleen works the 275/40 on a 20 inch rim... your best bet on a 20 is either 285/30 or 275/35 and for the front 255/35 looks best. do a search for a tire size calculator and it gives you the differences in speedo, diameter, revs per mile and things like that.

The original GT-R concept car had:

Front:
Pirelli P275/35/20 racing slicks
20 x 10-inch, 5-spoke billet aluminum wheels

Rear:
Pirelli P315/30/20 racing slicks
20 x 11-inch, 5-spoke billet aluminum wheels

Though I believe the GT-R had extended fender flares. My Saleen has 20x9 front with 275/35 tire and 20x10 rear with 275/40 tire and they look great.

I dropped mine with the sportsline kit from eibach and i have 19" adr racing rims with 295/55/35 on rear and 255/55/35 on front. Rides great with no rubbing or anything...just lots of looks:nice:
