17/9's

You'll need 1991 - 93 front fenders, and don't know how far you'll be able to lower the car with those rims. Take out the inner fender junk and get 245/45 on front. You can put 255/45 on back or take the quad shocks off and go to a 275. ;)

I have about an inch lower than stock I can go without rubbing. Also 91-93 rack limiters is a good idea, I've yet to do that.

Yes, they will fit all around, but be sure and do your research before you buy.
There is nothing worse than throwing money down on a set of wheels and then they aren't offset just right, or tuck into the fender well lip too little or too much.

First I suggest going with an 8" wheel up front and a 9" out back.

My suggestion, if you want chrome, is to buy the FRPP 17x8's for the front with a 245/45 tire. These wheels are perfectly offset/backspaced for the front of a fox body (+15mm/5.15"). You can buy these cheapest at www.gefracing.com
For the rears I suggest the Verde 17x9 Replicas as these fit just right with the rear fenders and tailpipes when running a 275/40 tire (+18mm/5.71"). You can buy these at www.mustangtuning.com

The only other suggestion I can make to you, if you want to buy silver, is to get the OE Concepts 17x9 for all around (+20mm/5.77"). You can buy them right here at partsshopper for $114 ea.

Here are some pics for your visual reference:

First notice how this 17x8 AFS wheel (+12/4.95") just doesn't tuck properly ... it isn't offset correctly, yet AFS claims they fit "perfect"

Ford's 17x8 ... notice how they fit just right up front ... yet they ARE too tucked for the rear.

Now look at these Verde's with 275/40's mounted ... they're just right for the rear ... yet they DO protude out too much for the front. (You could see better if the tires were straight in this picture.

And finally, heres OE Concepts 17x9's all around with 255/40 & 265/40 rubber ... a little snug up front, but with a little massaging of the fender lips they fit and look tough.

First and foremost, make sure you like the look of the replica, as they all have slight design differences.
(Sorry to anyone that owns these cars, but they're great for visual reference.)

ok so 17/8 in front and 17/9 in the back will be just right.

Yep, but which brand you buy and which finish makes a difference.
The only 2 manufacturers that I'm aware make a 17x8 is Ford and AFS.

Like said above, if buying chrome, I can justify buying two different brands for front and rear respectively. But if I was going to buy a silver wheel I would buy from the same company.
A sliver wheel doesn't have the "cloudiness" that chrome creates. Chromes cloudiness throws off visual cues as to the exact design of the wheel so one can hardly tell that something just isn't quite matching.

AFS has sold a lot of wheels, but they aren't front and rear specific, they're designed for "versatilility" (you can run their 17x8's or 17x9's on all four corners) ...
Their wheels just don't tuck properly respective of the fender lips, and you will probably end up rubbing your tailpipes as well with their +24mm offset 9" rims in the rear.

this is the look im going for on the back

Well you better put in battle boxes and then stiff weld the control arms to the axle and the boxes, lol ...
With that tight of a fit you definitely don't want any side to side movement.

Plus the car above has had a 5-lug conversion done ... which brings up a whole different set of guidelines.

Anyways, there's usually a little bit more to prescribing wheels than just saying I've got 17x9's with such and such tires and they fit.
The devil's in the small details ...
You couldn't fit a 225/50 in the fender if the wheel is offset/backspaced incorrectly.

You could always just buy some AFS versatile-fit wheels and call it good  :notnice:
Or spend a grand + doing the 5-lug swap and brake upgrade?.
The sky is the limit.
How much do you have to spend is the real question???
