4 gauges vs. 6 gauges

You only get the other 2 if you have the My Color dash. Not a big loss. They're both dressed up idiot lights anyway, not full scale gauges.

wrong .. the temp guage is a full scale gauge.. it does reflect actual temp .. i have personaly over heated my car once by forgeting to plug in the fan when i removed it to put on my under drive pulleys and the guage did and does increase when the engine temp does i watched it slowly climb while i was in trafic and was like wth am i geting hot for until i pulled over and found the fan awas not pluged in.
pluged in the fan and the gauge and temp reading returned to normal.

What temp was it at when it over heated, and how many volts did it get down to?

Let me guess RED, And L.

I donno maybe it's just me but I only consider a gauge full scale if it actually displays information you can read off a scale of measurement. Instead of measuring the actual value by guestimication and values like L-H and RED.

Thats ok, It will force me to put some gauges in the car. pillar or dash.

I come from running racecars (nascar) and knowing what the engine is doing is so important...

Does Autometer make a pillar pod?

I understand the need for accurate measurements... this is my first "new" car and I'm used to driving classics... I've even got aftermarket gauges in my bone stock 63 lincoln. However, the point is that the volt gauge isn't just a fake gauge that shows either charge or no charge. It does actually get lower as the charge gets lower (as opposed to reading just fine until, oops it dropped to L)

Yeah they did away with that because there were too many non-car people complaining.

Ohhh my car's on 220* when it always ran on 205* something's wrong. Now they put NORMAL there for the idiots.

Even if they don't have numbers, its good to know that they function. They'll give you a warning that something bad is starting to happen. My '96 had an oil pressure gauge that had a scale, L-Norm-H, but it was just an indicator (normal, or below a preset value of pressure, whatever that was). Not much help.

Out of curriosity, what is your affiliation with Nascar? It looked pretty dogone cold there in Las Vegas today during q-ing and on Trackside Live! A couple of years ago, I went to what ended up being the last race at Rockingham and froze my butt off!

Right, hottymustang, it depends on the interior package you get. You don't have to have MyColor. I got the four gauges + MyColor with the Interior Upgrade Package (for a bunch of bucks). But, it all looks nice. It might look better with a white background.
