stang ran fine shifted perfect until i changed the trans filter and fluid now it wont shift out of 1 gear maybe a defective filter? or, maybe air in the lines ?

i had the exact same thing happen to me before i swapped for a t-5 it turned out to be my kickdown cable......might be worth checking out.

yeah i did the tv cable at the throttlebody but it might be at the trans maybe the tv valve gone past its limit or smthg also i read accumelater spring can be checked without removing VB 1-2 shift valve stuck i have removed the pan 3 times already 1st for the F&F change then the govenor was stuck now the it maybe the valve body needs R&R all this for a filter change i should have left well alone

When you put the filter on , did you make sure you included the little square cork gasket on the end of the tube that attaches to the valve body? Sometimes the fliter kits don't come with a new one, you have to reuse the old one or find a new one.
If you didn't, it will cause the problem you have.
I think you have to remove the pan again to make sure.

^^^ Thats exactly right, I have heard of that happening a few times.

well i took off the pan again 4th time and i had checked out the valvebody the 1-2 valve was stuck in the downshift position soooo i put it back together and took it for a spin guess what same problem over no shift i assume the gasket that came with the new filter was the right ones cause 1 was square and one was a round grommet looking rubber that went on the filter i didnt carefully inspect the round one to the old one while i was down there i should have now i guess ill be taking it back apart again soon geez
