With very little fanfare, Ford has announced the GT/CS on their media web site.

For $1,895 you get a ramshackle collection of fake scoops and decals.
If you want more performance, the press release says to go buy the Ford Racing Power Pack.

All I can say about the GT/CS is "whooptie f'in do"

How could it take 2 years to accomplish so little?

Looks to me like the main purpose of the GT/GS was to give the dealers something else to sell with "market adjustments" to people who can't get a GT-500.

Also --- I belive the statement in the release: '1.5 inch lower ride height' is an error. The ride height is the same, they are just incorrectly referring to the GT/CS front spoiler which is 1.5" lower than the regular GT.

:nice: Where is our N/A 5.4L or S/C 4.6L 385-400hp car?

I was planning to buy a 08 bullit untill they cancelled the program. Then I thought, I would get a CS or the GT "appearance" package. Not after seeing the pictures though. I'll hold out for something with a little more substance than some stickers and another non functional hood scoop.

~sorry for the rant

This thing is like an answer to a question nobody had.

But, you see what the purpose of this mustang is for Ford right? When people go to buy a GT500 and discover they are all already sold or spoken for the nice man at the ford dealer will take them over by the CS GTs and say, "here is another special edition mustang you might be interested in that you can take home today." Thereby trying to force a sale on the guy. It's all to make a buck. Instead of releasing what they know we want and will buy, they release the stuff that they know they can make a little bit more money off of first. Then when the hype behind the GT500 and CS starts to go away, they will release the more powerful Boss/Mach/ect, it's all intended to keep the mustang hype going.

It's a pity you have to consider a CS package to get the Pony Engine cover and 1.5" lower. Should have been standard on a GT is you ask me.

Hoping there will be enough covers made where people can get them through OE suppliers.

I think the CS is just a gateway model to pave the way for more feature models. Since the GT500 was such a hit, why not try other big-sellers? Can you blame them for trying?

We may still yet see the Boss return...dare to dream.

Hate to tell you this Raburn, but the GT/CS is NOT 1.5" lower. It is the exact same ride height at a regular GT.

What is 1.5" lower is the bottom of the GT/CS front valence. The lackie who wrote the press release screwed up the info.

You should not have any problem going down to your local Ford dealer and ordering the GT/CS engine cover. There should be plenty of them made as you can order the engine cover on any 07 GT. Just order the GT Appearance Package (54G) which includes Hood Scoop (lifted from the GT/CS, Bright Rolled Exhaust Tips (lifted from the GT/CS, and Pony Emblem Engine Cover (lifted from the GT/CS).

Gee, suddenly that GT/CS your neighbor bought is even less special. :notnice:

Just wait until 2009 when they put the GT/CS scoops & front & rear facias on a V6 model (like they did with the SN95 hood scoop & spoiler). Then your neighbors GT/CS is going to be really, really special. :rlaugh:

Just read that the GT350H is coming out (knew about it) but that only 1000 are being made. The Shelby card is really starting to get played out IMO.

When in the living heck of hail marry are they going to produce a 'real world' Mustang for the enthusiasts who want a GT +. And don't start with the GT500 because that is not a 'real world' Mustang, being its not something most of us can get our hands on due to limited production, the 'Shelby' name and gouging out the yoohaha.

Off my gripe now, but Ford is even putting me to sleep. ::sigh::

It's a GT-H, not a GT-350.

As I've been saying, it's a Shelby after market car, not a Ford Special Edition.
500 will be made.

It looks like the GT-H is little more than a regular 06 Mustang GT with gold stripes, a Shelby CS-6 hood with hood pins, new grille, FRPP Power Pack, Sirius radio, FRPP mufflers, X pipe, FRPP handling package & 3.55 gears - with the automatic tranny. It doesn't even get special wheels.

The CS-6 is nothing more than a bunch of Shelby & Ford Racing bolt ons added to a regular Mustang GT that any one of us here could put on a Mustang GT over a long weekend.

At least the GT-350H has some power and handling upgrades. Both of which the GT/CS sorely needs.
