Just did mine two weekends ago. My car is Oxford white and I painted mine red. Turned out pretty good.

I used this stuff and it worked as advertised.

I used the same kit.

I used the same pretty much the same kit as U.M. and 2k1Gt - A little different box from Pep Boys, but looks like exactly the same kit. I don't know how the other guys did it, but using a razor blade to shave off the COBRA a few hours after application works like a champ.

I didn't even use half the kit doing all 4 calipers. I've got your same color Cobra, but I like black better than trying to match reds.

Man, do I need new rear rotors!!

i did do my cobra yet, but my ricer protege i just took the calipers off, sandblasted them at work and primed and painted them while there all apart, i think they look alot better.

I took mine off the car to paint, but i was in the middle of working on other things for it so i had the time.

U.M and others are right in that you need to use a two-part system with gloss paint and hardener. One that withstands heat and chemicals. I didnt use that mentioned kit but I work at a paint store and these types of paints are readily available.

I did my black 96's calipers in black. I still like the red on our car's but every damn ricer around town is "spray-painting" their crap with red(usually orange...hahaha) so I went with the more understated black this time.
Red or black looks great! I'm curious to how the blue looks.

btw, I really need to get a digital cam. Those photos here look awesome!:nice:

I have mixed feelings on this.

How does everyone feel on painting brake calipers.

My car is torch red and I'm thinking about painting my brake calipers the matching color.

Any thoughts?

I took an easier route. :p

After an on-track event last fall both of my front calipers needed a rebuild...fried dust covers on all four pistons, etc. I priced pads and rebuild kits, and then found out that Dallas Mustang would sell brand new OEM calipers and pads for 200 bucks (both sides). The cost was only marginally higher than what I was going to spend for pads and kits. They offered the anniversay red calipers at the same price, so that's what I bought. Put on stainless lines at the same time.

SInce someone mentioned rebuild kits, i found a pretty cheap one for the 94-98 Cobra calipers that i used for rebuilding mine.

Made by STainless Steel Brake Corporation. $25 each side. Comes with new pistons, seals, boots pin.

Does not come with speed bleeders, i just had them in the shot.
