After wanting one for my 35 years of existance, I finally got my Mustang this past week. 2004 sonic blue V-6 with an aftermarket Pioneer stereo all else stock for now <evil grin>. The big problem I've had is from the point that I was driving it off the lot, the local tornado sirens started and I don't think the poor thing has had no more of one full day with no rain... so we have decided to call it rain. I've loaded a pic up of it, but it's not that great, I'm planning on taking some better one when this infernal rain stops.

Congrats... definately post more pics when you get a chance :nice:

it's 3.9L, anyone know exactly why they changed in mid year on these?

Why V-6??? cheaper on almost everything... and everyone has a V-8, it's going to be fun when I beat them with my V-6. <evil grin>

I believe it had to do with Ford's switch to the new platform for the Mustang in '05, which resulted in the phase-out of the 3.8L engine during '04 to make room for production of the 4.0L engine that is now used in the current (sn197) V6 Mustangs. The 3.9L was still available in late '04 since it was being used in the WindStar mini-van, so those were used to finish out the '04 V6 Mustang model year after production of the 3.8L ceased.

BTW is your transmission automatic or standard? Two good mods that come to mind regardless of transmission type are true dual exhaust and 4.10 rear gears w/ a T-Lok. If yours is an automatic also consider a flash tuner; among other improvements they really wake up an automatic transmission.

Thanks for the info... dunno if it would be cool to brag that I have the same engine as in a mini-van, lol.
And I have an auto, so thanks for the input on that. I've already received a Steeda catalog and with it I could max out a few credit cards. :nice:

Another question I have is I would like to do the some stripes, but I'm willing to put the extra money to have them painted then with stickers so they will be permanent. Thinking of either the small side stripes, or the two rally stripes down the back, just depends on the cost. Would anyone have any idea what cost I'd be looking at to get these done?
