undercoating for road noise?

Dynamat is awesome, however it has two MAJOR setbacks.

1. Weight - if you do the whole thing you are gonna add 50+ lbs

2. Cost - Dynamat is way overpriced.

Tip: Buy a set of earplugs, much cheaper and better for weight reduction.

Seriously, you should just learn to live with it. I used Dynamat on the whole trunk with ONE layer only and that alone was 30 pounds. I couldn't even tell a difference in noise afterward because you're supposed to use like 2-3 layers. so if you do it right, which is 2-3 layers for the whole car, then you're looking at over 100 pounds! that will kill your performance.

yeah thats what I found on the old 5.0 I had, I used a crap load of dynamat on the floor/hatch and I really couldnt tell. I did not do the doors however and I hear that they make a difference. Either way I was thinking about the undercoating because it looks clean (when done right) and if it makes it quieter then thats even better. For the record, riding with a woman in a loud car is even more annoying than the road noise..."Why is it so loud in here? Is it supposed to sound like that?"...shut up woman lol.
