Weird Stalling Problem! Need Help ASAP!

Ok so for my next step I should invest in a fuel pressure gauge. I am also going to swap out my old spark plugs for some new ones in case they are possibly fouled. I will also check my fuel filter. I hear my fuel pump priming when I turn the key on so does this mean it is working? I will let you guys know how those tests turn out most likely tomorrow evening after work. Thanks.
I would streamline things. Pull one plug after trying to start the car. Is it wet with fuel? Chances are not good that plugs are keeping you from starting.

When checking fuel pressure, that should help you know if there is a pressure impediment. If not, a dirty fuel filter is not likely.

The pump priming doesnt mean you have adequate pressure. As pumps crap out, they can still flow a little, but with not enough volume (ergo pressure).

I think it's great to replace those parts you listed - I just wanted to maybe save some time with the diagnostics (you can replace tune-up items in the future at your leisure, if testing doesnt indicate that they are an issue).

Good luck.

I don't know what the weather is like where you are BUT... I had the same issue and couldn't figure it out. I had cleaned my engine bay one day and the car started behaving as you describe it.

I had a hair line crack in my dizzy cover and some water had gotten in there. It was shorting out some of the plugs. New dizzy cover, problem solved!

It was also a great excuse to replace the old dizzy with a nice new MSD one, but thats up to you...

Sorry its been a while but I have finally had a day off from my internship. I had a warrantee on my distributor so I returned it for a brand new one hoping that was the problem. However, I still have the same problem. A friend had a similar problem and said it was the EGR valve could this be the problem? I am getting fed up and don't really have the time because of my internship so I might break down and take my car to a mechanic for the first time.

Wierd stall issue

I have seen this very issue. I saw it in a 95 GT that I recently sold. Does your car have a super chip or a chip of that type?? Mine had a Super Chip that seemed fine for a while after installing it. But then my car did the exact same thing! It would blow a lot of white smoke from the tail pipe, then stall, then still blow smoke for a minute. When it did run, it felt powerless. It left me stranded in a Dave and Busters parking lot once. I removed the Super Chip and never again had any fuel management issues!

EGR fits the nasty idle issue. EGR is not supposed to be present at idle. If it is, the car will idle like poo or stall. You can remove the vac line from the EGR at idle and see if there is any vacuum present from the line. Check the EGR itself to see if it's closed (a chunk of carbon can keep it propped open).

Good luck.
