Hope you guys don't mind a female sneaking in to the mix.
Stang.net has been keeping me informed on the ins and outs of the '07 GT 500 for the past year. I finally started reading the forum several weeks ago. I thought it was time to register and say a few things.
First of all, I've been a mustang fan for over 20 yrs. This makes a great mix in my house since my husband has been a life long vette owner. His car is bored, stroked, and blown making approx. 700 rwhp. I've been talking about getting an older car that needs no body work. I want to work under the hood. I want it to be MINE.
Anyway, just over a year ago I saw a picture of the up and coming '07 Shelby GT 500. The first thing I did when I returned home was to tell my husband to stop looking for an older car for me because I found exactly what I wanted. We've been talking about this car all year. I emailed him at work everytime I found something new about the car.
The time finally arrived and we went to the dealership to see about putting my name on the list. The salesman told us there would be a $20,000 mark up on the MSRP. I gave him a smile, grabbed my kids and said goodbye. I told my husband I will gladly wait a year until the price becomes more reasonable.
Hopefully I will see one at the track and I can cheer the driver on - with my $20,000.00 in the bank!!
Maybe I'll be at the track next year to see what my car can do. I'll even go side by side with the fool that paid $20,000 over.
Just a side note----I've always liked the look, sound and speed of a car. Unlike my husband, I'm new to forced induction and 4 valve engines.
