my buddy lives down there and i visit once twice a year not a bad place but i think they have fairly strict emission laws, and the traffic is a ******. i think atlanta is a very materialistic place, imo. good luck with the job though.

Ok My GF just moved out there 4 weeks ago and I've been out there every weekend....

It is a VERY materialistic place... Merc. SL 500's, Vipers, Vettes, Benz's EVERY WHERE... no place to run and have fun cuz by the time you hit second there is a red light.. the traffic is UN GODLY:notnice: . not a bad club scene, ALOT of BUMS... the MARTA is OK but don't take it late at night. and what ever you do... don't park your baby in the dark... My gf live's in Buckhead an Upscale neighborhood, and alot of shady ppl in my opinion look on your car as prey.

Depending on you job location and personal commute requirements there are other options than Buckhead. METRO ATL is a bear to navigate during peak hours but otherwise, not too bad.
For a time (3 months) I had to commute from the southside (Stockbridege) to the north side (Marietta) on I75 ... again, it can suck and it can be a breeze.
If you're coming down to HOTLANTA ... do some serious research in where you want to stay.

The SE section might give you better results.

Good luck on that job!!!!:nice:

I live 60 miles south of Atlanta and its still too close. The metro Atlanta effect stretches very far. Given a choice, I'd move somewhere closer to the coast or to the mountains of TN. There are some nice places in GA for sure, but its getting overrrun with some really crappy people.

It's hot but not as hot as here in Florida. Traffic is a nightmare!!!!!!! Nice drag strip in Commerce and they run every weekend. Strong Mustang clubs in the area. And some top notch power shops plus Mustangs Unlimited has a store in Lawrenceville. Living in the burbs is less congested than in the Buckhead area. Best thing I ever did was move away.

pros:
lots of thing to do
close to MP
Lots of jobs
NO snow
Resonable cost of living
Great weather
2 Nascar races (Mar & Oct)
Cons:
July & Aug hot (everything has AC)
Traffic ( i mean lots of it)
No snow skiing
High crime rate (drugs mostly S. of Atl)
