not to bash on you but is there a chance you put the gaskets wrong ?Your other thread about overheading lead me to believe one of the gaskets was put backwards or the coolant passages on the intake are being blocked by the gasket Either way tear it down and find out whats wrong Good Luck

well i put the gaskets on, they were black with blue outlining one side on each gasket said "front" on both sides... i put that part facing the radiator. as far as intake i had to cut out a corner on the water jacket because it was hanging over the port, which made the opening rectangle..... correct right?

maybe a stupid question but how do you know you blew a head gasket? I'm brainstorming over what could be the cause.

edit: nevermind, i just saw that you've already checked the thermo stat, checked that the coolant was flowing, etc.

Did you find the area where it blew, if so check for any holes that may be blocked (incase of defective gasket, missing holes), also did you remove any thing that could have reversed the rotation of the water pump(rerouted the belt? is the upper hose as hard as a rock when its cold, warm, hot when?

When you put the intake back on ............

cut the heads off some long bolts
or
cut some lengths of allthread

use one close to each corner to guide the intake down so the gaskets don't get disturbed or hosed up.
