Just put the 94-95 spindles on my 91 Notchback. I put the 2 5/8 spacers in there like the 5.0L magazine said to make up for the difference in the bottom part of the spindle. That is not the issue.

The problem is both of my wheels are turning inward. / \

The left wheel looks like I am making a right turn.
The right wheel looks like I an making a left turn.

I thought this was supposed to be a direct bolt on. This is nothing an alignment could fix it is really bad, you can't even push the car. I will mess with the tie rod adjustments myself tomorrow I just hope I have enough thread to play with. My Notch is a 2.3L to 5.0L conversion also. But the rack has to be the same length as the 5.0L I would assume.

Has ANYBODY RUN INTO THIS BEFORE!??? I want to finish tomorrow because the wheels I put on there look nice so I want to cruise.

Your referring to toe in. I also upon completion of 5 lug swap came into this same problem. I went with a steeda bumpsteer kit to give maximum adjustment. My steedas allow me to drop the bottom of the mounting point to spindle of the outter tie rod off. This allowed me to eye up the wheel with the rear wheel and get it close... then by just loosening up the jam nut I was able to spin the tie rod out to where it looked good. Then I just popped the bottom of the tierod back on and tightened the jamnut. I did this all with the tire on. You just need to get it close so that you can drive it down to the alignment shop and let them do it up good.

Also the 4cyl racks are actually different. I know for sure that they have different ratios. I do not believe that they are different sizes(width) though.

Yeah, you are right. It worked very well. I will have to do this tonight. Last night it got to be 11:00 and I was doing it at my parents house. I just moved out so I still had to drive all the way home. Thank goodness I had my truck there too, cause that car wasn't moving. Hopefully there will be enough thread on the inner tie rod to turn the outer tie rod out more.

Yeah the ratios are different, I was just thinking the length could have been different at first. On the other hand I was like How the heck can they be different, its the same car. You know how it is when its late and you're mad. Thank you for your info...along with everybody else.:)

Your tie rod ends are still where they were in the stock position I assume, right? Try turning the tie rods ends outward 6 turns. That should straighten your wheels out enough to drive.

You should have an alignment done as soon as possible however, to prevent improper tire wear.

Thanks for the site...that guy really breaks everything done right. I figured the tire rods were the problem, I just have never read about anybody having that problem, so at first I was like "What the heck did I do???""" It will be all good tonight, now this weekend I have to swap the built 8.8 I have sitting in the garage. I am doing that at work on the hoist though, the heck with laying on my back.

I started out at 6 turns out from stock but ended up going to 8 for the initial setting. The alignment guy told me that the toe was WAY out. I adjusted so it looked good and it was still off.

Toe Before:
Left: 1/2"
Right: 13/32"
Total: 7/8"

Toe after:
Left: 1/32"
Right: 1/32"
Total: 1/16"

Get it close enough to drive it to the alignment shop and they will fix the rest.

Conversion Complete!!!! The car stops really good. I am very happy I chose to do this. As far as the tie rods, I turned them out about 15 or 16 times per side. Wheels are very straight, I am getting an alignment anyways this afternoon when I get off of work. I also had to buy a 3/16" male to 1/4" female adapter for the passenger side caliper line to the metal hard line off of the body. Over all, everything went good, but next time I will have the adapter ready to put on instead of running to auto parts store at 8:30.

If you are running the 94-95 calipers then you can run the fox soft brake lines with just the sn95 banjo bolt and you should be fine. Thats how mines done and it works great. I bought those MM ones that mount to the upgraded calipers and fox hard lines but I didn't realize they don't work with the 94-95 calipers so I'm stuck with it for now until I go 99+ pbr or cobra. :(

Its a good time to Upgrade to Maximum Motorsports Stainless Front Braided lines as you dont need an Adapter!

True, but it was late and I just wanted it done!! Plus I did it at my parents house, because the house I bought doesn't have lights in the garage...yet...:D and I needed to get home to get some sleep. This fall though, my garage is gonna be hooked up...heat..lights...insulation and drywall....then MANY Mustang posters!!
