theyre supposed to be a 1 1/2" drop (same as pro-kit) i swapped mine out for sportline, theyre laying around the garage somewhere. i believe they say eibach on them as well as racecraft but i dont think theyre just redisguised pro-kits i think its a special spring rate just for saleen.

I recommend removing spring pads too

I removed the spring pads as well and gained about additional drop of 3/8 all the way around. Not alot, but if you are going to be in there anyway, good idea. Plus, it is VERY hard to get the front "hose" type pad to fit "exactly" where it was prior to removal. You may find you re-install the new springs, and the front spacer will not fall all the way into the lower control arm, and not drop as much as supposed to. I also recommend putting a small amount of heavy grease on ends of springs. This may eliminate any squeeking that might happen with metal/metal contact. I did this on my '85 and had no squeeking or problems of ANY kind for over 20 years. I did the same thing to my '02 Saleen, but am getting Griggs Racing to put rear-end of GR-40 kit in this coming week :D

They are in fact different rates as the pro kit, but they off about the same drop.

DO NOT remove the isolators, in fact when you get the springs, put an energy suspension isolator kit on all 4. Makes a world of difference in ride quality. I tried it for a while, and every bump felt like a 6 inch curb, there is a reason they are there.
I had no fittment troubles with the lower section.

There is no need for the car to be an extra 1/4 inch lower. And do not get the sportlines, they are a ghetto spring, meant for extreme lowering, not a performance item, more like a lowrider thing.

I've put in alot of sets of springs, in many different foxbody mustangs, and IMO, the pro kit is very close to the racecraft set. Just give it a few weeks of driving, the car will get lower and lower, until it settles.

Coil overs are not good daily driver springs, they wear out very quickly. Puny little springs. Besides, by the time you get the MM springs going, you are talking like $700.

$260 minimum for the front
$320 minimum for the back.

If you have bilsteins, add another $100 to each side.

That's like $500 more than the eibach pro kit.

That is strange? Almost everyone I have talked to that has coilovers on their car have mostly positive things to say about the ride and handling?

I have never heard of springs wearing out quickly from quality providers like H&R, Koni, MM, KW, etc?

Do coilovers cost more than springs? Of course, but pay a bit more up front and do it right the first time.

Almost all the coil over springs are the same brand, hypercoil. (or maybe it's hyperco, i forgot)

It's the coil over conversion kits that are different.

I've seen it first hand.
Coil overs handle well, ride fair (imo, no better than a standard spring).
Suck for drag racing, there have been many guys that their 60ft have gotten worse with coil over drag springs, even the magazine tested them a while back, and their 60ft worsened.

The springs are the size of ones on honda civics which weigh far less.

If the car sees alot of miles a year, and the roads are bumpy, expect them to be junk, very quickly.
Now if you drive it 2000 miles a year, i wouldn't worry.
Think about it, most guys with CO's, don't have them in their DD.

My buddy just switched to coil overs on is 7.50 race car, reason he did it, was to keep the front end on the ground, where's if his moroso trick springs would force the car onto the rear bumper.

Standard style springs are just as "right" as coil overs, so using coil overs when you don't need them, only wastes $500, that could be spent to upgrade the rest of the suspension.

I'll take eibach pro's over coil overs any day. Especially when that leaves you enough money to buy: upper and lower control arms and CC plates.

Now if you do truely want them, the MM kit is the way to go, the rest seize and rattle themselves to pieces.
