Beat an 03 Cobra at the Track, Vid

  • Sponsors (?)

I wasn't doing too swell!

My 60's were kinda bad and since I was kinda "undergeared" I was having to wind the motor out to 6300 crossing the traps.

My trap speeds weren't too far behind tho :D

1 race against helt was a pretty good one, imo.. But then again, that's my opinion.. and I may be way off :D... The other race was a joke, me and my good ol' 2.3 60ft against his 2.0 :(

Helt was getting better and better all night long :nice:... while I continued to suck :rlaugh:

I had a blast, I sucked it up pretty bad as well. I need to get those 3.73's installed and some better tires. I can't wait to go again. But both of you guys did really good and I'm glad none us wrecked. I think October 14th would be a good time??

yeah, what happened to that side of the track just before we ran, and what was your 60' when we switched lanes? thought so bitch

jason sucked all night, some a$$hole ricer even beat him then gave him the business and turned his blinkers on :rlaugh: What an a$$hole :D

nah, it was a good learning experience. still havent found that perfect launch rpm though. I bog @ 3500 and spin n hit 7k rpm :)eek: yeah, scared me too) if I launch at 4000, so its somewhere in between.

Heres another very short vid (4 seconds) of the first run against the Cobra. Camera died on me :notnice:

1st run was my 2.15 vs your 2.26... end of race was my 11.18 vs your 11.39

2nd run was my 2.34 vs your 2.15.. end of race was my 11.44 vs your 11.09 :(

Actually.. to my surprise.. I had .2 lead the whole race from the 330 til the 1000ft. You had a higher mph at the 1/8th, but I had a higher at the 1000ft :D.. freak run maybe, but i'll still count it :p

But the 2nd race was different lol.. me = no traction

That right lane was kinda throwing things around :nonono:

Oh well.. we can still get back to the track and see how things are now that you've got some practice in and i've got the right gears for my setup. Assuming some asshat doesn't have a nitrous backfire at the starting line and blow **** all over the track again :rlaugh:

Oh yeah.. and that lightning I beat that night :D

thats what I was getting at. that was my worst run all night. a 2.2 60'? The helt doesnt pull 2.2 60's, not in this world.

my 60's in the right lane were consistently worse than the ones in the left lane. Only good run from the right lane was the 11.09 @ 98.9. I think I even saw someone we were with pull a 2.5 60' in that lane!

 :rlaugh:

Yeah.. the right lane has always been kinda crappy compared to the left lane. But it was even worse after that nitrous backfire that night.

So... whenever you race somebody (other than me), make sure you're in the left lane for max traction :nice:

i already knew that. why do you think I got in the left lane to race jake? ;)

Helty, looks like you guys had a great time :nice: .

Now time to see how fast your car is....what did you run in the 1/8? And what did it trap in the 1/8?

My best full street trim ET/trap was as follows. (note: my car was missing pretty bad after making all of my runs, and just didnt feel right up there{houston})

60'-------1.99
330'------5.62
1/8-------8.56
MPH------84.41
1000'-----11.08
1/4-------13.20
MPH------106.21

BEST WITH DRAG RADIALS and pulled spare(local...car running good)

60'-------1.89
330'------5.40
1/8-------8.27
MPH------86.16
1000'-----10.72
1/4-------12.79
MPH ------108.85

If your not beating that (traps mainly), then Hely you need to practice bro :D . LOL gives you something to beat anyways...I always like having a goal to hit/beat when I go. It seriously helps me I think.

I think there may be a little bit of a difference between Houston and Centerville. Did you see the woods about 10ft away from the track surface? Not exactly one of the best tracks in the land. (but its all we've got :( )

Plans to hit a 1/4 track are either October or in the spring. I'll let you know then ;) Should be Memphis. Let me get some seat time at a half-decent track and then we'll be E-homo's and compare times.

Exactly, your ET/trap will improve quite abit as you get more seat time...the 1/4 mile is like a driving art more than anything, it takes practice and you can improve ALOT by just simple changes in driving styles.

Ehomos :rlaugh: ...well thats as close as it gets for me thats for sure

But yea you guys seriously need to get to a better track...I could of sworn I seen Robin Hood hiding in the trees popping arrows in the direction of half track in those vids. Make sure you roll the windows up... LOL

AWSOME Jason...looks like you can drive bro. Your car definatly has 108-109 traps in it when you get on some 15s....wont be very far behind Hely's 113ish capability :nice:
