Going with a 460. I just won an auction on ebay for everything I'll need to swap. 2" to 3.5" headers, oil pan, motor mounts, gaskets, etc...
Anyway, I need to know what some good HCI combos are. This car is only for the 1/4 mile. Auto, Spool, Slicks. Not a street car.
HEADS
For heads I am NOT going aftermarket. Most likely ported D0VEs. If there is a better stock head to work with let me know.
CAM
For the cam I'd like mid-top end power. Big blocks have the low end covered so is it smarter to go with a cam and valvesprings that caters to mid/top end? Also what kind of gains do you get from going solid or roller rather than hydraulic?
INTAKE
I have no idea what to go with. What works? What doesn't? I hear a lot of people going with the Torker II intake. I want SINGLE carb. What's better between single and dual plane? What is tunnel ram and is it better?
Please, open to suggestions. I would be on bigblockfox.com asking stuff but I can't get that site to work.
BTW, trans is a C4 with JW bbf-C4 Bell, full manual vb, trans brake. Waiting until I know the engine's power-range before I get a converter.
