Go with the 4:10's. I drove mine to Mustang week this year, (3,000 mi. round trip.) and was wishing I'd have put the 4:10 gears in all the way. Especially driving through the mountains. In the Mach, I was downshifting to 4th gear alot. One of the other guys that went also, had those gears in his GT, and thought they were great. Better acceleration, and almost no difference in gas mileage either.

In what, 5th gear? With 4.10's and a TR3650 5-speed, you would be turning about 2600 RPM in 5th gear at 70mph. If it's an automatic, I'm not sure.

Also with the T3650 in 5th gear, you will not get to 3000 rpm while cruising until you are going 90 mph. Get at least 4.10's. I use them in my Mach 1 as a daily driver and wouldn't have it any other way.

Just installed 4.10s last week and also got an xcal2. Drove the car all weekend with the speedo off. Cause I had to wait to get the used xcal2 unlocked to adjust it. So I went to all ford mustangs dot com. and found out what rpm I would be running at 70 and it said I would be turning 2554 rpms. but I got it set last night and found at 70 mph I was turning only 2300 rpms in 5th. So if I was you I would go with 4.30s then you might turn 2500rpms at 70. Just my little input.

I have 4.30s in my Mach and 70 mph is @ 2,500 rpms. For what it's worth I chose the 4.30 gears because I drive the car less than 2,000 miles a year and like to go to the 2 Ford races around here in the summer. With the 4.30 gears and stock tires you are pulling in 4th gear pretty good when you cross the stripe. With 4.10s you would I believe be just ready to shift into 4th. at the stripe.

you'll be happier with a 3.73 set-up for daily driving, racing it you'll proabably want a 4.10 or 4.30 or higher. I'm actually ahppy with my 3.55's, but when i switch to 31 splines i'm going to switch to 3.73

I seem to be one of the few that is completely happy with the stock 3.55s.

I had a Mustang GT before and swapped the gears for 4.10s. It felt faster, but I still lost to the same cars by the same amount, it seemed like. It was also an automatic, so I know it wasn't my driving....

i'm happy with the 3.55's, they pukll when there supposed to and there basically perfect for the car. i'm only switchin to 3.73 when i do the axles cause it's there and i can do it and it wount be a huge difference, just a little extra bump

I agree 100% :nice:

I don't blame you on the swap, cause I know i'd more than likely go with some 3.73s as well. Personally, I wouldn't go any higher than that cause I do eventually plan on running some serious boost further down the road.... and learning from my friend, 4.10s don't work too well with 14psi on a turbo, and 700 rear wheel. LOL

LOL, yeah I don't think they will. I want to do boost, like a nice 8psi procharger kit... but I keep hearing that you have to build the internals if you want it to last for a while (i plan on keeping this car for as long as possible, even when i get another daily driver)
