hello. I tried to post this earlier but I guess it didn't go thru.

Just bought my first 03 cobra. Got a deal, but need to work the bugs out.

1. tonight on the way home from work, ran car up to about 4500 in third, shifted to fourth and car bogged for a split second. Same thing going to fifth at about 3500.

2. how about that wheel-hop? Always heard it was a problem, but never realized how big of a problem until I got my own. Where do I start?

3. Front end has rattles. Tires are worn about 3/4 of the way across starting on the insides.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Oh, car has exhaust, pulley, and was dyno tuned to 464hp and 455ft lbs.

Mine bogs also if I blow a shift, could you just be getting used to the T-56?

Wheel hop sucks read this: http://www.svtperformance.com/forums/showthread.php?t=231900

You are going to have to be more descriptive on the front end rattle.

As for the tires you f'ked up by taking delivery of it like that. Was it from a dealer? If so go back and nicely but firmly demand tires, its a safety issue and it is illegal for them to sell a used car with bad tires.

As for your numbers all I can say is DAYUM :nice:

Pics NOW! :)

thanks for the info. the bogging is when i just shift slowly. Never driven a supercharged car before, so the whole experience is new to me. do I need to shift faster when leaning on the boost? The front end rattles I notice mostly when backing out of the driveway. Sounds maybe like a strut or a bushing. Gone thru several fox bodies, none of which ran like the terminator. Thanks again

the hesitation you describe could be due to a few things....
1. Running out of MAF.....not likely at your boost level.

2. Tune needs work.

3. PPRV needs to be removed.

#3 is what fixed my problem, but I never had the hesitation till I went up to 17# of boost and 60# injectors.

Check out the terminator forums @ www.modularfords.com . They have the best 03/04 tech on the web!:nice:

all I know is what i got from the dealer. he told me a pulley, exhaust, air filter and the guy had it tuned on the dyno. Have dyno sheet to show numbers. I think the blower has been apart cause it has marks on it to show how the pieces line up. Not sure about the amount of boost, but it baries the factory boost gauge. I'm in the process of trying to contact the previous owner to find out in more detail. sorry, but that's all I have to go on right now.

are you stepping up from another mustang?

if its a driving issue, its bogging because youre not used to shifting with a engine that doesnt hang or fall back in revs slowly if youre used to a GT or such. i had the same problem when i made the switch. if you shift too slow, the rpm's drop and you either engage the clutch and forget and it gives everyone in the car whiplash, or you have to ease into the throttle again and off the clutch slowly to keep the rpms up so nobody has whiplash.

unless its a tune issue, which could very well be a probability.

as for rattles, check everything. could be suspension as well?

and yeah, buying a used modded car sucks, you never know quite what is done, even if the previous owner provides a list youll always get a suprise somewhere. more than likely you will buy duplicate mods, but at least when you install them, even if previous owner says so, you know its installed right the way you want it.

Is the PPRV in the tank along with the fuel pump? What will I need to remove it? Thanks for everyone for giving me their ideas. If the PPRV is the problem, will it hesitate every time or can it come and go like mine does? Took a ride last night and never felt it once. Then today, it came back a couple of times. Thanks again to everyone. Will get some pics up asap.

I have an '01 N/A Cobra so I don't know if mine is related to same issue. But I too always had a lag mostly on freeway speed shifting to 5th around 3400rpm and giving it a little more then half way gas peddle down. I started to play with it on the freeway leaving it in 5th gear. I can replicate the problem upon command. Leave in 5th gear and give it a quick push on the throttle and will always bog. :(
