Hey guys. I am upgrading to a CAI and tune within the next week and I wanted to know the difference between the C&L intakes. I noticed the Racer intake was designed for those with heavy mods. I do plan on upgrading to a supercharger but not for a couple of years probably. Do you guys recommend going with the racer intake versus the street intake? Will I see the same power gains on both of them? Currently my only mod is Borla stinger axlebacks.

the differences are the diameter and maf housings. i have the racer cai and if i had to do over id get the street ( aluminum). as far as heat, i dont believe it really makes any difference. do a search of over a yr ago and this was gone into at nausium. vynle

Why would you get the aluminum? I have the C&L Racer too. It's lighter and cheaper. Can't imagine getting a heavier one for more money. I ran a 12.907 with mine. Reinstalled the factory on back to back passes and slowed to a 13.241. .33 gain with the C&L. I used the correct tune for both passes.

no real reason. i just like the aluminum better. dont get me wrong , i have a saleen s/c on now and the racer seems to have been the correct choice. it all just comes down to preferences. if they had made the " racer" aluminum i would have went with that. vynle

I suppose if you like the aluminum better that would be the choice. I just like the factory look of the Racer better. Just like I like my factory bulett wheels better than any of the aftermarket. Both intakes make the same hp as posted on C&L site for the mildly modded car.
