I am looking at purchasing a 95 Saleen, I did a VIN check and it came up as a GT, I did a few other VIN checks on other Saleens, they also, I am assuming Fords VIN must be different in some way. I wanted to confirm this one as a real Saleen.

Here is the info:

VIN # 1falp45t8sf278511
Bumper #126

Yes all saleens check out as GT's the only way to confrim is to call saleen and give them the Vin my old 02 check out as a gt.

It's a real deal.

The car is probably worth 25k or a little over if someone really had to have it. I would have to say that if it was on it's original motor ot would be worth a little more 29-30k. Almost all of these 94-94 cars have blown motors even with lower mileage than this.

Only 6 S351's in 1995 were built from V6 cars. The rest were made from GT's.

What I don't like in the ad is at the top he says he's selling it for a friend. Then later on he references that

"I know the guy I bought it from along with myself never took this car to the track or drove it on any days other than sunny." If he took text from the seller and inserted it directly in the ad he should have said that other than talk about the car like it's his own.

Yeah I know what you mean, it pretty much sums up that he had purchased the car for himself, so he is making absolutely no sense by saying he is selling it for his friend. I had emailed him and asked him the reserve price on the car, he told me is was 29500, from what you can tell from the pics and from what he states in the info part, would anyboby think that this would be a good deal if I were to pay the price he wants.

Here is the address is anyboby wants to look at it.

Like the others have stated, get as much information & relevant documentation on the car as possible before making a final decision to purchase it. A CarFax report should be de rigeur prior to purchasing any used vehicle, but particularly so with a specialty vehicle like a Saleen. Then you'll know how many owners it has had.
