Plenum question!!

Probably the cheapest one you can find. They all flow nearly the same amount of air so it is hard to justify spending $200+ on an Accufab when a $100 Prof. Products plenum will give you maybe 2-3 hp less. That being said, I would buy the TrickFlow plenum. It is like $99 from www.SummitRacing.com.

I just picked this up myself and installed it recently using the stock tb, although I spent the extra 10 bucks and got the powder coated version so it will stay cleaner - longer. I'm looking to pickup a TB in the near future to go with it, but I felt a gain with just the plenum. All the tests I've seen, there is only a couple of hp difference between the brands. The Fit and finish were top notch and Summit is always great to order from. Here it is freshly installed. Sits quite a bit higher than stock.

No don't listen to these guys. Anytime someone is talking about the best plenum, best throttle body, or other intake components, they automatically go to the best for all that stuff which is Accufab, and thats because when MM&FF did a test between the plenums, and throttle body combos, the best combo was the Accufab Plenum and throttle body. Other plenums in the comparison were Dragon, C&L, Trickflow and one or two others. Heres a look at what I'm talking about for you: http://www.accufabracing.com/mustang_gt.htm

nice! thanks guys, It looks like there is only a couple hp difference and for 100$ i can't really afford that after the ported and polished heads and lower intake so i like the way the trick flow looks and the price, its either going to be that or C&L, most likely trick flow.

I have the C&L, my husband has the TrickFlow. Both perform the same function. If you look inside of the plenums to compare the inlets look the same as well as the curve inside the plenums. My C&L makes absolutely no noise at all.
lvmustanggt: I would check the gasket that is located between the intake, and the plenum. It sounds like you have a leak somewhere, maybe a vacume leak:shrug:

I even replace the intake gasket inbetween the upper and lower but still make whistle . I will buy one more gasket just to see if the new gasket is leaking. What do you mean by vacuum leak? where should I look ?

Thanks in adavanc

You should check the IAC connection and the hose right next to that is a vacuum. Both should be snug. Is your throttle body tightened all the way to the plenum? Next to check would be your air intake and all the parts accociated with that. Last thing that could be making noisein that area is the emissions crap on the right side of the plenum.

just 2 days ago change IAC vale and gasket, Egr gasket. checked all the vacuum like as you told me but no luck. I am thinking it might me the gasket in between cause last time I clean mine C&L I took it out and I saw my new gasket that I have change was way too stretch . It didn't even want to fit in that oval gasket housing but I force it , so I may have leak from it.

That blue gasket is only factory? cause I cannot seems to get any where like autozone or checkerauto:mad:
